Sturling. has been slowly climbing the ranks in the underground bass scene with a notable collab alongside FUXWITHIT favourite T1R, and his incredible original ‘Whiplash’ making major waves. With the release of his debut EP Asylum on Friday, Sturling. looks to truly breakout. Giving fans an early taste of what to expect comes our premiere of ‘Twonk,’ a heavy hitting new collab with Dreamer. The two connected after Sturling opened for Dreamer and given Sturling. was already a fan, a collab was practically destined.
“Each track on the EP represents a different personality or identity (I guess as you would find in an Asylum). I really wanted each track to have its own feel to it and to take you on a bit of journey as you listen through and ‘Twonk’ to me kind of somewhat brings back a bit of sanity to the EP compared to the other two,” Sturling tells about ‘Twonk’. This one definitely takes you on a journey. The opening loop drives the track forward as things build. The drops are engrossing, combining gritty trap overtones with a slight future bass undercurrent. Raw enough to have you throwing trap arms but still tying in a moving appeal. ‘Twonk’ proves that both Sturling and Dreamer are artists you should be keeping an eye on.
