A specialist in tilted freeform soundscapes, Idaho-native EvoluShawn possesses a unique ear for hip-hop sampling and captivating, jagged bass lines that allow him to establish a peculiar, inescapable rhythm in each of his releases.
Sampled out of his forthcoming Space Clash EP, ‘Into the Darkness’ depicts the sonic collision of the digital and supernatural as EvoluShawn interfuses gritty, reggae-vocals with an ominous bass melody and an assortment of eclectic digital fills. “This track came together by combining two different sound design sessions and reworking them into a new beat I was making. I really wanted to keep it minimal, but still interesting and weird,” he shares regarding the process of slowly refining and developing a track over time.
