Up-and-coming music producer, southgate. conjures up a hard-hitting experimental bass EP on the Spicy Bois label. He’s known for his gritty harmonic overtones, glitchy melodic kicks, and heavy trap influences tied together.
The first track chimes in with a heavy, downbeat kick drum and a crunchy space drop that was made to make your head bob. The distorted synths compliment the air-tight FX bringing in deep, tribal vibes with serious chops on the rise. The build-up radiates cosmic energy halfway through the second song as if being beamed up to the mothership. The formation of the drop is swarming with lasers and alarming sirens hitting unexpectedly fast. It swirls into a UFO ambience bringing you back into a bass-heavy vortex. The final track has electrifying combinations of woodwind and deeply compressed percussion pulled together with layers of alien reverb.
GRIM is hybridized between earthly and otherworldly. Prepare your ears for mayhem.
