Drake Caps Off 2019 With ‘War’

by Colin

Drake is back. The 6 god returns with a fresh freestyle entitled ‘War.’ The tracks sees Drake flowing over a UK drill beat courtesy of AXL Beats, with a flow reminiscent of ‘Behind The Bars.’ The icy beat is understated allowing Drakes bars to take centre stage. The track goes all the way through but what’s sure to grab the most attention is Drizzy showing love to the Weekend with bars like, “OVOXO link up, mandem drink up, me and the drillers/ Hawk and Sticks and Cash and Baka, Gucci, P, and Gilla/ And the boy that sound like he sang on Thriller, you know that’s been my nigga/Yeah, we just had to fix things, family, 6ix tings, we can’t split up.” Given their rocky relationship in the past, fans are sure to be excited to see two of Toronto’s finest back on good terms.

Along with the release comes a new visual. Shot at Blue Mountain, this is sure to have everyone in Ontario excited by the familiar sites. From skiing and snowmobiling, to shots of the chairlift and partying at cabin on the mountain, it doesn’t get more Canadian than this. Check it below.
