Swiss production duo L*o*J have been FUXWITHIT and underground favourites for quite some time. Impressing listeners with incredible works like ‘Woozy,’ ‘Lean,’ ‘Hyped’ and many more. Connecting with Chicago-based LYNY, the trio cook up ‘Whippin,’ a heavy-hitting trap song that defines the word banger. If you’re unfamiliar with LYNY, it’s time to stop sleeping. We premiered ‘walk w/ church’ just over a month ago, and we can assure he’s about to takeover in 2020.
‘Whippin’ showcases the immense power of LYNY and L*o*J. Opening with the looped Lil Pump vocals that give the track its name, militant snares and trippy risers are added to build tension. The release hits like a brick across the side of your face. The first drop is menacing and monstrous. Walls of bass fill the space while it maintains a g’d out swagger. A short break and ragga-inspired vocals give way to a second drop that may somehow be even more filthy. Heavily distorted vocals are bent and stretched over heavy bass while perfectly placed “woo” samples add the fine details to take this one to a whole other level. Capping things off with an exotic soundscape only furthers the impressiveness ‘Whippin’.
We caught up with LYNY to get an inside look at how ‘Whippin’ came together and what’s next. “L*o*J sent me stems of some crazy effects/sounds and I immediately fell in love with them. I threw some serum top leads on, and the flow of the track was immediately created. We wanted to mainly give listeners a preview of what our EP is going to sound like! Its been in the works for a while! The fans should know that 2020 will be a big year for us and we’re super glad to present this piece to you guys,” LYNY tells us.
