Today marks 6 years since we launched FUXWITHIT. It’s been an absolutely incredible journey so far and each day I’m more and more amazed at the unbelievable opportunities running this platform affords. Each year on our anniversary I write a post reflecting on what the milestone means. With last year being our biggest ever there’s a lot of things that I could focus on, but as I thought more and more about what I wanted to highlight, it always came back to the people. When Kash and I started the site we didn’t know a single person in the music industry. We had no connections, no pre-built audience, no artist friends. We just had a desire to share music we loved with as many people as possible.
It’s incredible to think that a platform that started in our bedrooms was able to bring forth so many connections. Over the past 6 years I’ve had the ability to connect with hundreds of people around the world. I’ve made friends with music lovers from around the entire world, from some of my favorite producers, to label owners, publicists, managers, fans, podcasters, bloggers, editors, videographers, photographers and more. The relationships formed are a true testament to the power of music. To be able to instantly hit it off with someone on the other side of the world is pretty crazy. This post is dedicated to all the incredible people I’ve been able to meet (online and in real life) through FUXWITHIT and the power of music.
I also wanted to give a very special thank you and shout out to our team. For years I’ve dreamed of putting together a team of people that are talented, passionate and share the same vision of putting music first and championing the underground. Our current writing team is the strongest it’s ever been, and I truly believe it to be one of the best in music journalism. To anyone that’s ever worked with us, whether it be writing, shooting photos or videos, editing, producing, designing or anything else, thank you. FUXWITHIT truly wouldn’t be what it is without all of the amazing people that are or have been a part of it.
Last but certainly not least, shout out to all the fans who read our site, share our content and follow us. If it wasn’t for you I would’ve given up on FUXWITHIT long ago. If you’re reading this, know that it means so much to me that you care about FUXWITHIT in any way.
It’s been an incredible journey so far, but we’re just getting started. I look forward to all the future connections and experiences that FUXWITHIT will afford. If you’re in the Toronto area come out and celebrate with us on Friday at Junction City Music Hall. We’ve got two of Toronto’s finest up-and-coming artist playing (Dropwizz x Lingopolus) and I’ll also be on the decks.
