Concentrate’s inspiration roots from the earlier era of dubstep to curate deep dub and heavy bass melded together with subtle drum & bass influences. Music producer, Connor White formulated Concentrate coinciding as a suggestion to focus on the arrangement of his meticulously layered sound design. It doubles his portrayal of the general playstyle as being undiluted and pure in its complete form. Instructions is an interstellar experience demonstrating just that.
‘Saucin’ introduces a steady, low-end backbeat with vocals by rapper NewGent. Starting out with a magnetic pull, it builds up to the rest of the flow into a contagious rhythmic vibe. This leaves you drowning in rotating reverb with jungle percussion and synthesized bass frequencies. The drippy lyrical build up eases into the next song with a bang. ‘Wrecktangle’ is wired with uplifting crescendos. It oscillates smoothly between industrious and groovy melodic energy demanding your attention. This track is more trap-induced and bass heavy.
‘Hedera’ chimes softly with whimsical, air-tight soundwaves. It carries a dark ambience picking up later with danceable jungle beats playing as the interlude unto the next and final track.‘Instructions’ finalizes with a drum & bass feeling flared with extra swing. There’s titillating chops and unexpected fade-away. Each carefully layered instrument complements the well-saturated bass from start to finish. It’s bordering somewhere between Tipper and G Jones when it hits with heavy reverberation all the way through as coordinated chaos.
