Last year was a remarkable twelve months from Ekcle, with the release of their Yoja EP and their single ‘Jindigo‘ kicking off their tour and live show. Looking to build from this momentum, the talented artists return today with their first track of 2020, ‘Pearl Jigsaw.’
Although we’re not certain about the reason behind the track’s title, we speculate that ‘Pearl Jigsaw’ stems from the track’s gleaming yet perplexing properties. The worst type of listeners who skip through every thirty seconds of a track would wonder how each section fits, yet Ekcle piece these puzzle pieces together with such grace. The introduction is laced with quintessential Ekcle samples and effects to captivate you immediately, before a hypnotizing flute-like sound takes the lead over crisp bass patches layered underneath. As the track progresses, the contrast between beauty and bass only grows, yet it remains truly exquisite. The second half of ‘Pearl Jigsaw’ is elegant and gritty at the same time, with drum and bass touches added to close out the already perfect piece.
