For anyone ingrained in the underground bass music community in the past 2 years, Brandon Wisniski, or Wreckno, is an assuredly unmistakable name. Boasting maniacal twerk-inducing beats with saucy vocals over the top, he’s a deadly combo for anyone looking to get out and shake it. Now, he’s joined forces with Michigan local Nick James, also known as Super Future, who’s made quite the name for himself already as well. For their first collaborative EP effort Hypernatural, they concoct a diverse mix of forward-thinking productions and hip-hop elements. From the opening beat, ‘Signal’ thrusts its immensely clean and refreshing production to all in its vicinity, with swampy low end and a delightful melody. The first drop is all in the hips, making slow, romp-shaking the name of the game. A surprise awaits after the first break down, as Wreckno comes on the mic and absolutely slays a wildly-energetic verse. The next build is exceptionally timed and fits like a glove with the looped and chopped vocals. The traditional trap elements blended with the modern day experimental sounds makes this delicious combination that is a true treat for the ears.
If ‘Signal’ is a sign of anything for these two incredibly talented youthful artists, it’s that they have an undeniable sound that will absolutely be well-received by the masses. With Super Future just putting out an all original mix 2 weeks ago and a guest mix slotted for us in the near future, and Wreckno now incorporating his own vocals atop his already pristine production, the only question that comes to mind is “what can’t these two do?” Hypernatural as a whole is a major success, and a concrete statement that these two are here to stay.
