Sydney-based Xorts has previously demonstrated his ability to create luscious soundscapes in tracks such as ‘Clear Fog‘ and ‘Quilt.‘ Now, the talented newcomer looks to showcase a different side to his production skills with a rugged, grime-leaning piece titled ‘Moncler’ that is unlike anything else in his repertoire. Right out of the gate, ominous chants drive the introduction to hook you in before Rey Heygate chimes in with a menacing verse. Despite the lyrics taking the forefront throughout, Xorts’ crisp production carries the track forward as eerie basslines and meticulous percussion round out the gnarly track. The lyrical and musical flow work in harmony to make ‘Moncler’ a hidden favourite for grime, rap and bass lovers.
