PREMIERE: TLZMN Shows Off His Skills With ‘Technique’

by Victor Lovo

For the past few years, a spectral essence has been evolving within the depths of SoundCloud by the name of TLZMN. The anonymity behind the project has let the music to take center stage and allowed each release to emit their energy. Combining the sounds of Drum and Bass and elements of hip-hop production, TLZMN has consistently shown us there are no limits to bass music. With off-the-wall sound design and throat-punching percussion, TLZMN has become one of the most treasured members of Wakaan. In 2018 we got his debut EP The Hood, fast forward one year the beat wizard blessed us with Sanctum, his debut album. With no stopping in sight, we’re proud to introduce ’Technique’ from TLZMN’s DJINN EP out on Wakaan this Friday.

Right out the gate, we’re introduced to a suspense-building melody played out by a spacey one-shot synth that is extended as the intro goes on, giving us a funky start. In addition to this, it showcases a punchy snare that seems to jump out of your speakers. As we approach the drop at one minute, we’re met with a bone-crushing sub that carries this section along with a wonky counter-melody which is phased in and out every few bars. After a quick build-up, we’re once again thrown into a hectic drop, this time with similar elements but different arrangements, giving us a welcomed switch up. Stream this one down below, and make sure to pre-save the EP.
