Aweminus Makes A Bid For The Throne With ‘Glass Planet’

by Steph Contant

2020 is shaping up to be the year that Aweminus finally gets the worldwide recognition he deserves for being an elite trendsetter in the realm of dubstep (and beyond – that bass house remix for Oolacile’s ‘Divisions‘ is a game-changer). As one of the leading forces behind Never Say Die: Black Label‘s coveted roster, the Las Vegas-based producer is consistently showcasing a sound that is fresh and entertaining in a scene where artists are often doing a lot of the same. Aweminus’ introduction to the calendar year in the form of ‘Get It‘ was a blazing anthem sure to send any unsuspecting crowd into a frenzy, and today he returns with ‘Glass Planet’ to truly establish himself among the best in the game.

First teased in his DubHub mix a couple of months ago, ‘Glass Planet’ is a unique five-minute track that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Despite having a very short introduction and mid-section, the ingenuity of the extended drops never grows stale and hits hard on every subsequent bar. ‘Glass Planet’ is peculiar due to its high-pitched nature but the underlying heaviness drives the mayhem that it creates. Highlighted by enticing melodies, rumbling synths and snappy percussion, three signatures that Aweminus is championing, ‘Glass Planet’ flows seamlessly, creating a conflicting dance-versus-headbang vibe that impresses more with every listen.

Aweminus is the future. ‘Glass Planet’ is proof. Don’t miss it below.
