Despite being known for his wicked trap beats that edge on the minimal side but always seem to send a crowd into a frenzy, Lingopolus is a man of many talents. His recent set for our FUXWITHIT 6-year anniversary party showcased these multi-faceted abilities, as everything from house to trap made its way into his high-intensity set, giving us a taste of what’s to come from the skilled Toronto-based artist. Now, part of this loaded unreleased discography slowly begins to see the light of day as Lingopolus has unleashed his HYPERDRIVE EP, and all expectations should be left at the door before diving into this journey.
Lingopolus is usually known for earning support from the likes of Flosstradamus or Boombox Cartel, but we wouldn’t be surprised to hear artists such as Wuki or Valentino Khan rinsing the material from the HYPERDRIVE EP. The project is odd in the best way possible, leaving listeners wondering what they just heard while simultaneously having them wanting to dance. It’s an eclectic style rarely heard in today’s scene, pushing the experimental boundaries of club music without escaping the danceable nature of the genre. Flowing naturally from start to finish, the HYPERDRIVE EP is the brainchild of an artist who refuses to conform.
Lingopolus’ trap influence is present throughout, but an underlying groove will make you want to boogie all night long to the HYPERDRIVE EP. Don’t miss it below.
