As two artists who have recently appeared on the same compilation, it’s no big surprise to see Vancouver-based So Sus and London-based Robu close their geographical gap by coming together on an epic track. Both leaders in the underground trap scene pushing a sound that remains fresh, So Sus and Robu have individually set a precedent for high quality trap beats with no shortage of ingenuity laced into each track. Making use of each other’s strengths, their newest collaboration titled ‘Sorcery’ is witchcraft at its finest, meshing haunting soundscapes with an ethereal touch unlike anything we’ve come across.
Out now on Tribal Trap, ‘Sorcery’ begins with a jungle-inspired soundscape before electronic artistry bridges the gap to the true highlights of the track. The first drop is a trap lover’s dream, blending punchy percussion with penetrating synths that never escape the feeling of being lost in the depths of the Amazon. It hits hard and fast, kicking at your chest like your heart being filled with adrenaline. Halfway through, listeners are transported out of the jungle and into the clouds as ‘Sorcery’ takes a turn toward the beautiful in an emotive, uplifting section. In a cohesive switch from heavy and hard to soft and sultry, So Sus and Robu close out their collaboration with a bang.
‘Sorcery’ is the product of two creative minds innovating to create one majestic piece. Don’t miss it below.
