It’s not often that a new hip hop act pops up out of nowhere and truly impresses me. Even less common, is that the act happens to be a 9 member group. But here we are. With the release of their new single ‘Steamy,’ seeyousoon has officially locked in my interest. Hailing from Florida and made up of members Ignacio, Kenny, Denny, Maddie, Josh, Dre, Drex, Luke, and Mitch, their off to a very promising start. With little details available about their background the music takes center stage (as it should). What instantly caught me is their unique style and sound. It’s somewhere between backpack influence and youthful internet rap. It’s smooth and alluring while being in your face and energetic. Each rapper brings their own energy and swag, keeping things exciting and diverse without the song feeling disjointed. Bump this on repeat and lookout for seeyousoon.
