It always brings joy to our hearts when we can play a pivotal role in an artist’s early stages of their career by giving them a platform, and even more so when it’s someone who seems to be blazing their own path within the scene. Italy’s Francesco Guglielmi is the name in question here, or as we all know him by, Eater. Over the past few years, we’ve watched a truly unique and innovative sound being developed right in front of our eyes, with aggressive trap bangers like ‘Reset’ and ‘Redux’ and hard-hitting house tunes like ‘Business,’ Eater has shown us that becoming immersed in a variety of genres from the start can benefit the project as a whole.
Eater’s world-class production has recently begun to attract some attention by some of the bass scenes’ biggest names. ‘Machine-gun,’ his massive collab with GAWM has been rinsed by both NGHTMRE and Excision. We caught up with Eater and got some insight on what it’s like to see names like these playing tracks of his, “The motivation that it gave me is something that I cannot explain, I started as a DJ admiring these artists and seeing that they now play my music is such an amazing feeling…yeah recently I saw that Nghtmre just played Machine Gun too and I’ve been able to get some good feedback on my upcoming projects but for now, I will just say enjoy the lead single off my EP and get ready for the full Project, which I officially announce that it will come out this April.” It’s our honor to premiere the title track of Eater’s upcoming EP, ‘No Break’.
During the intro, we’re introduced to the beat that lays the foundation of this aggressive trap anthem, as well as the energetic lead vocal sample. After the vocal sample is looped behind the building drums, we’re thrown into a violent drop filled with legendary sound design straight out of a metal factory that still retains the groove and rhythm of the track perfectly. After a quick build-up, we’re immersed in an equally aggressive half-time switch up. The third drop is where it all comes together, combining elements of both drops to create a truly epic finale to this anthem.
After listening to this track a million and one times, we asked Eater what the message was he wanted to send by making this the title track of the EP. “The message that I want to send is that it is time for Eater to evolve, improve, and show people that I’m here to stay and make music that you will not find anywhere else, but at the same time have fun and experiment as I always try to do.” Stream it down below and be on the lookout for the full EP coming in April!
