Back in 2016, production master Lido decided to re-imagine Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo into an 8 minute epic that blurred the lines between mash-up, remix and original production. ‘Life Of Peder’ set the internet on fire and Lido revisited the idea once again for ‘kidsloveghosts’. While we’ve been waiting to see if we’ll receive another rendition from the producer, it seems that Lido has been Lido’d. One of the brightest new talents (figuratively and sonically) camoufly has just unleashed ‘life of lido,’ a 3 minute re-imagination of 17 Lido tracks. The wealth of source material and short run time may lead you to believe that this is going to sound chaotic, but it’s quite the opposite. ‘life of lido’ is effortlessly breezy showcasing both camoufly’s production talent and Lido’s artistic genius. Tracks like ‘Dye,’ ‘Walk This Way (Remix)’ and ‘Same Drugs’ take centre stage while many other samples are sprinkled in more sparingly. I’m going on my 20th listen, and it just keeps getting better.
