PREMIERE: Beatkarma Goes Full Beast Mode With Latest ‘Tails’

by Alex Bell

South Lake Tahoe’s Nate Johnson, also known as Beatkarma, is no stranger to making die-hard fans of the more experimental leaning trap genre get down and dirty to the beat. With a major emphasis on groovable, gritty creations that drip with distinctive style and energy, he’s already distanced himself as a sound curator with an innate ability to cleverly craft diverse ear-pleasing productions. For his latest release he’s harnessed full bull in a china shop energy with ‘Tails’, a modern-day trap banger if you’ve ever heard one.

The early established underlying beat of ‘Tails’ sounds like an edgy take on a circus’ theme song, maniacal energy and movements being the name of the game as listeners are the unwitting entertainment on parade. The mixing is buttery smooth, with many moving elements and layers all working immaculately in unison. The middle drop is exceptionally thick, with grin-inducing punch and diabolical low end. The entirety of the song is a ticking time bomb for a dance party just itching to happen. Once clubs open back up again, this piece will emphatically pop off on any battle-ready sound system worth its weight. With plenty of time to be in the studio, Beatkarma has a chance to capitalize on sharp momentum early into 2020, and easily make it his best year yet. Check out ‘Tails’ for yourself below!
