Akira Illustrates ‘Super Power’ On New Release

by Alex Bell

Continuing the trend of audio domination by artists that aren’t even old enough to drive yet, Australia’s Akira holds the prowess of a seasoned veteran in the body of a sprightly 15 year old. Curating immense amounts of dark, heavy energy into his works while boasting a diverse array of styles and sounds, alludes quite easily to the fact that this producer has one hell of a future ahead of him. His latest release, the Power EP, keeps this steam-roller of a ball rolling, and we’ve had the great pleasure of premiering ‘Superpower’ from it, for your listening pleasure right here on FUXWITHIT.

Feeling like a doomsday clock that’s swiftly counting down to your ultimate demise, the introduction sets an air of sheer uncertainty and maximum bodily concern. When the drop finally hits, the ultimate weapon is even more devastating than anyone could’ve imagined, decimating all ear canals within vicinity. Going for a more bass-heavy approach than his traditional trap and dubstep genre-blurring, this is a nice switch-up in both overall sound and arrangement. It’ll take your breath away with the bone-crushing sub bass. Liberally sprinkling in his tell-tale hard-trap synths keeps the long-term story of his sound progression in-tact, while simultaneously showcasing a new direction and noticeable change on his part. Not all trial runs will be executed to perfection, but damn this one was expertly slayed. The final drop is just flat-out mean, decking you straight in the face with a right-hook when you were expecting the left, neck bounding back and forth like a grotesque bobble head figure. Akira has shown time and time again that he has a knack for making monstrous pieces far exceeding his time. Check out ‘Super Power’ in all its glory for yourself below!
