by Steph Contant

BOOST TAPE 01 is a contender for compilation of the year. Although many thought it couldn’t be topped due to the depth and breadth of its contents, RL Grime‘s Sable Valley has just dropped its debut compilation titled Sable Valley Summer Vol. 1, and it is stacked to the brim with established legends as well as the hottest up-and-comers from all walks of electronic music.

The fifteen-minute preview that dropped on August 10th was enough to get everyone and their mother hyped for the unprecedented compilation, as the contributors and track names were finally released to the public, with a teaser of each tickling every listener’s curiosity. FUXWITHIT favourites Cozway, capshun and Colson XL, and Jon Casey make their mark on the impressive collection with three experimental bops sure to remind everyone why they are to be watched closely. Sable Valley roster members Knock2, JAWNS, and the label-head himself (alongside Whethan) contribute in the form of fun yet fierce trap and bass brute primed for your living room dance floors. Additional favourites include Kumarion’s drum and bass belter ‘Enemy,’ MASAYOSHI IIMORI’s innovative future bass piece titled ‘Realm’ and Heimanu’s signature NuRave-leaning ‘Worlds,’ but we highly recommend you listen from front to back and pick for yourself.

The best part? The title suggests this is likely a yearly thing. Don’t sleep on Sable Valley Summer Vol. 1 below.
