Get Ready to Go ‘Driftin” With swrly and South

by Tony Leonard

In the society of the underground and SoundCloud, swrly is a persistent producer that continues to release track after track, executing legitimate trap with a thick bounce. He has been featured in editions 315, 325 and 343 of FUXWITHITFRIDAYS making it almost a year of being on our radar. Although a majority of his tracks contain a certain level of comedic value, they still retain a level of serious unmatched potential. However, the elements of humor that do exist have become a signature to the swrly brand and set his tracks apart. In his latest, he teams up with fellow bounce enthusiast South for ‘Driftin”.

The pairing of these two producers is as natural as the pairing of salt and pepper. They have combined their efforts once before on the song ‘knuckle‘, making it only a matter of time before working together once again. With a flip of Rich The Kid’s ‘Jumpin Like Jordan’ over the first half, the duo tackles the classic ‘Tokyo Drift’ track in staple swrly fashion. If you take ‘Tokyo Drift’ and smash it through a wall of 808’s while distorting the percussion pattern and adding more bounce than a trampoline, your final product would be ‘Driftin.’ Along with following their main SoundCloud accounts, each artist also has a secondary account you can find here (swrly) and here (South).  Listen to ‘Driftin” in full below and keep a close eye on these innovators.
