Mesa, Arizona is usually known for its dry, arid heat, but not normally as a hotbed for the electronic music scene. Chase Marsh, also known by his stage name Yewz, firmly aims to challenge that. Manipulating soundwaves into all sorts of intoxicating concoctions with relative ease, this sultry sonic slanger already has a distinct style that separates him from the ever-increasing fold of immensely talented creators. With a wild remix of Brunchbeatz’s ‘Toasted‘, and a deadly collaboration with a fellow bass maestro Ravenscoon in the form of ‘Pegasus‘, he’s consistently shown that he can hang with the most top tier talent in the underground. Aiming to start of 2021 in proper fashion, he’s decided to take the next step in his artistic career with the release of his debut Stank Face EP, out on Electric Hawk, and we’ve had the great pleasure of premiering the title track from it right here for your listening pleasure.
With a certifiably giddy and wobbly introduction, fans will be surely feeling a rising sense of bewilderment, as uncertainty about what’s coming next is the only prevailing thought they’ll be capable of. The vocal sample “let me see you put your hands up” is looped deliciously on the build, forcing listeners to viciously thrust their appendages skyward, praising the lords of bass for their unholy sacrament. Crunchy wubs and satisfying vocal chops debilitate all entranced in the grime, with compulsory showers necessary and thoroughly required afterwards. Need an excuse to contort your visage in all sorts of wild combinations? Look no further, Yewz has you more than covered. Check out our premiere of ‘Stank Face’ for yourself below!
