Denver-based DMVU is a master of auditory manipulation. Conjuring sounds from different dimensions and translating them into a frequency that us simple earthlings can appreciate. Connecting with Wakaan for his newest project The Chain, the 8-track effort is nothing short of brain-bending. The introduction ‘Erythraeum’ welcomes listeners to a dystopian world in the not-so-distant future. The earth is no longer green and the machines have won. The smooth opening of ‘Harmonicc’ leads you astray before getting obliterated with bass in the first drop. From there on out the intensity seldom relents. The Chain is a blistering ride through insane sound design, filth, and unbridled creativity. Melodic elements peak through at times, but this one is meant for the bass heads.
