If there was ever a time to show true respect and admiration for Eyezic, now is the perfect time. During the years, he’s proven over and over again how unique and versatile his craft is. Blowing listener’s minds one by one from sophisticated and forward-thinking compositions. His ability to push boundaries within each piece is truly remarkable and impressive.

From crispy future bass tracks, groovy house music and more, there’s so much to discover within the discography of this legend. And that’s only scratching the surface. He’s even left his mark on highly acclaimed labels such as Jadū Dala, BONSAI Collective and much more. So today, it’s our grand pleasure to present his exclusive mix and interview he’s created for all of us. You’ll be washed away with emotion through every second and brought back to life at the same time. Tears shedding and heart bumping to the highest degree. We’ll also be diving into his personal creative journey and what he’s learned throughout!

First off, how’ve you been doing during the year so far?

I’ve been doing really well actually! Really taking the time this year to focus on myself and my goals that I’ve set. Consistently working on bettering my lifestyle health wise too! No complaints.

What can listeners expect from this enticing journey of gems you’ve put together?

It’s all “For Your Eyes Only”. A bunch of my personal favorites and some unreleased from YA MF BOIIII!

What moment or how did music hit you emotionally to a point where you decided to take a leap of faith and truly pursue it?

I honestly can’t thank Raftyr enough as I did a few production lessons to which he helped me organize my song structure and from that moment on I was firing new ideas daily. I was playing shows locally in DC for a bit but I knew that if I wanted to truly get further I’d have to make my own quality tunes. Big ups to Raftyr!

Have any of your family members dabbled in the arts as well?

My Grandfather played the violin! This whole project pays homage to him pretty much. My uncle was a drummer, and my youngest cousin is a singer/songwriter in Peru.

I see this project reaching new heights each and every month tbh.

Where do you see the Eyezic project in the next couple of years?

I see this project reaching new heights each and every month tbh. By 2023 I probably would like to be doing some more production work with pop & rnb artists. As well as performing nationally and sharing the “For Your Eyes Only” experience!

What’re a couple of areas you’d just love to perform at?

I definitely would love to perform in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, New York, and Austin! Honestly I want to perform nationwide :)

You recently played an after-party event for ESCAPISM. How was the experience and overall atmosphere for you?

Escapism was an emotional moment. Meeting all of my internet friends (such as yourself) all in the same place at the same time really meant SO much to me. The after-party was quite the experience as well. Trying to stay awake was my biggest obstacle but I managed to get it done and had a blast! Dallas really does know how to party!

If you could communicate with your younger self, what overall life advice would you share?

“Hey Dummy, you’re going to be quite the person when you’re older. Despite the obstacles you’ll face, and the people you’ll leave, remember to always keep your head high and never give up” :’)

Any specific tactics you take in order to calm your mind and creativity?

I make sure I hit the gym during my work breaks, and go on a run after my day job. It clears my mind and lets me know that I’m doing something good for myself which puts me in the best mindset.

At moments I focus on the percussive elements, but a majority of the time I will always lay down the melodies and set the tone from there.

How do you usually start your songs? Is it a specific story you have in mind or a piece of inspiration you’ve experienced?

Each song really just has its own process. At moments I focus on the percussive elements, but a majority of the time I will always lay down the melodies and set the tone from there.

What were some of your biggest challenges when starting down your creative road?

Probably just being even more social than I am. I get tired pretty easily when conversing with people I don’t know too well. I am very approachable, but I get very anxious when talking to someone new as I really don’t know how to carry on conversations without being super awkward haha!

If you had to choose a career besides music, where would your interests lie?

I’d probably want to start a skateboarding company, whether that be selling clothing or skateboards. Skateboarding was and still is something I admire so much.

A lot of my best work is dropping the rest of 2021. I really don’t know what will happen from there, but it’s DEFINITELY for the better :) <3

When can we expect more music in the future?

A lot of my best work is dropping the rest of 2021. I really don’t know what will happen from there, but it’s DEFINITELY for the better :) <3
