PREMIERE: PLEEG Makes Never Say Die Debut With ‘Alone’

by Steph Contant

Seeing up-and-coming artists on one of the biggest platforms in bass music is always heartwarming. Not that this is new, but fresh talent on a label as coveted as Never Say Die makes us believe that anyone can be a Champion of the Underground. That being said, the newest artist to grace the London-based label is PLEEG, a French producer known for combining colourful chords and uplifting bass, fusing dubstep, trap and future bass in an incredibly unique way. Making his mark on the people working behind the scenes at Never Say Die with his remix of Trampa’s ‘Your Luv,’ PLEEG has now been enlisted to deliver a full project via the imprint, and at long last, the Dreamer EP is set to release this Friday.

Before the collection of tunes hits streaming services later this week, we have the great pleasure of premiering ‘Alone,’ a track that ironically will make you feel everything but what the title suggests. Opening with a serene piano riff and sounds that will transport your mind to the depths of a magical forest, ‘Alone’ immediately surrounds your soul with its natural beauty. A brief change of pace leads the track into a quintessential bouncy rhythm that is wonderfully infectious, balancing glitchy textures with just enough bass to keep you dancing. PLEEG graciously makes an oddly choppy drop sound cohesive and connected, attesting to his innate production skills.

Hard to categorize but easy to love, ‘Alone’ is a joyous introduction to the rest of the Dreamer EP and with five more tracks rounding out the project, we assure you that there’s more of this coming soon. Don’t miss ‘Alone’ below.
