Monty & Visages Join Forces On Mesmerizing ‘Ange’

by Steph Contant

Monty and Visages are among the elite collaborators in the bass music scene. The rate at which they collaborate and the consistent quality of their tracks makes it difficult to understand why they have yet to form a supergroup called Montages. Jokes aside, the Toulouse-based artists have come together numerous times over the last few years, and have recently gained a ton of momentum with tracks such as ‘Hardware‘ and their remix for Boombox Cartel’s ‘Reaper.’ As regulars on Alix Perez’s 1985, Monty and Visages frequently push the boundaries of bass music, both separately and jointly.

Now, the collaborators kick off their 2023 campaign with a monstrous new single on the aforementioned label. The title, ‘Ange,’ which is French for angel, sets the stage for the ethereal and otherworldly experience that the track delivers.

The track opens with a clean and minimal introduction, with raw textures setting the tone for the rest of the track. While it takes over a minute for the drums to arrive, they are crisp and punchy, providing a strong foundation for the other elements of the track. As the piece progresses, it introduces more and more layers, building to a climax that isn’t overpowering, but dreamy and hypnotizing. Difficult to contain within a certain genre, ‘Ange’ displays Monty and Visages’ undeniable chemistry and production prowess, as they deliver another incredible cut. Don’t miss it below.
