Toronto-based producer Dropwizz has been proudly pushing the boundaries of trap for years. Today, the talented artist returns to our label with the menacing trap banger ‘Burn.’ The track serves as a follow-up to his heavy-hitting FUXWITHIT debut ‘Gulag’ off our Champions Of The Underground Vol. 1 compilation.
‘Burn’ lives up to its name bringing the heat and destroying anything in its path. Opening with an ominous and alluring melody, the track possesses a hypnotizing pull. The drops pack a powerful punch as mind-bending synths drift over crisp percussion and nasty bass. Stabs of brass underscore the intensity taking the track to new heights while paying homage to a classic electronic trap sound. Gritty sound design pushes ‘Burn’ forward, fanning the flames further. The driving vocal, “burn it down,” serves as a call to action for destroying the status quo and turns the track into a full-blown anthem. Get your fire extinguishers ready because this one is primed to set things ablaze.
Listeners will first be welcomed by a mantric melody with a hint of mystery, then progressing into an unexpected buildup which then evolves into a violent and energetic bass drop. I personally picture myself entering a dungeon where I will have to battle the final boss, doing whatever it takes to prevail victorious.
