Las Vegas-based bass producer SoundzZz has been blending his love of hip-hop and bass music for an exceptional fusion that blurs the lines between trap, experimental bass, and deep dub. From killer originals to filthy flips, the artist has become a mainstay in our FUXWITHITFRIDAYS playlists with tracks like ‘I Get The Baguette,’ ‘HIM‘ and ‘Can’t Sleep.’ With a big year ahead we decided it was due time to connect with the rising producer for a guest mix + interview.
The mix is jam-packed with unreleased tracks from SoundzZz and his homies, while the interview covers a wide range of topics including his musical journey, how Celine Dion brought him to Las Vegas, the key ingredients of his songs, and much more.
Where are we headed when we press play? What was your approach when putting this mix together?
It’s a journey for sure. 90% all original unreleased music from my friends and I! Lots of different vibes from hip hop to dubstep to trappy vibes. Hope we like flips!

Tell us a little bit about your music journey. When did you start producing? How have things evolved with time?
I grew up playing drums and have always been immersed in everything from rock n roll to Motown/RnB and hip hop. I’ve been producing music with the intent to release it as SoundzZz since the beginning of 2020! Music has been the biggest part of my life and I’m happy to be able to give a little piece of me back to it!
Are you born and raised in Las Vegas? If so what was it like growing up out there? If not, what brought you there? How do you like it?
I was born in Montreal, QC, Canada! My Mom worked for Celine Dion at the time, so when she brought her show to the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in 2001 we moved to Vegas. My Dad is a lighting designer so it’s been the perfect place for the fam. I’m now doing production as a lighting guy myself for big productions and conventions! I dig it, Vegas is a vibe for sure.
What are the key ingredients to a SoundzZz track?
I guess it varies based on the mood of the track, but recently it’s been a lot of hip-hop inspired stuff with big bass lines! I’m mostly using stock FL studio plug-ins and lots of distortion stuff, rift is goated!
We love the underground! It’s brought all elements of what I love about EDM and other genres together into one lovely thing. There’s nothing like it, especially when you’re standing in front of a proper sound system.
What is it about deep bass music that resonates so strongly with you?

What is the secret to creating such heavy-hitting basslines in your tracks?
Don’t know if there’s much of a secret to it haha. I mostly use fatty 808s and try to keep it simple and clean.
What’s in your listening rotation at the moment?
Oooo lots of Dominik Fike, Mac Miller, and Billie Eilish always. In the bass realm of things, the 2TALL boys got it going on! Also big shoutout to the Know Good boys they definitely know what they’re doing, the music is soooo good!
I’ve also been building a sound system the last year or so, that’s been taking up a lot of our time. I’m very excited to have that done up and start throwing our own events!
How do you like to spend your time when you’re not working on music?

What do you have planned for 2025?
Currently taking dates for a bit of a Spring/Summer tour! I’m going to be releasing a grip of flips and original works I’ve made with my friends. Lots of collabs. We’re looking to start an event company with our sound system too which I mentioned above, so lots of cool things to look forward to!
