Since re-branding from XVII to Vincent, the LA producer’s sound has moved away from the heavy trap influence he built his name upon, to a more emotional and moving direction. With the release of ‘Alpha,’ Vincent finds the perfect sweet spot between his early sound and his new direction. From the intro you’d expect a more downtempo and moving affair. What you get instead is an absolute monster. The gripping intro sets the stage for a massive trap drop that’s thugged out with gun clicks and shots. It’s a stellar start but things proceed to get even better. After a breakdown, a lone gunshot let’s you know the build is imminent. The second drop is an industrial-injected explosion, sharper and more deadly than roughly cut sheet metal.
