I’m not sure where to start with this, so let’s just take it from the beginning. I’d never heard of coyote kisses prior to listening to ‘illusion,’ so I had no real expectation for what I was getting into. The track opens with a nature inspired soundscape; a bird’s call, smooth flowing waves and muted drums that quickly become clear. It’s not long before the track fills out with a combination of lazery synths, vocals bends and an intensifying build. All this transcends into a pitched down, dream-like vocal “it’s just an illusion” that proceeds a massive drop that’s guaranteed to make your brain melt. It’s almost too much to put into words; futuristic synths rolls, indistinguishable yet inviting vocals bends, hard percussion and a barrage of bass. This is truly something special.
