Avarice represents 9 months of blood, sweat, & tears for Sayer and this mercilessly meticulous attention to detail shines very brightly indeed throughout the entire body of work.
Perfectly distorted synths, brilliantly punchy drums & some of the grittiest, heaviest basslines I’ve heard all year permeate the very fabric of this EP, and will undoubtedly have bassheads everywhere signing praises for the return of one of the west coast’s finest.

However, what really stuck with me about this release is the incredible song structure and highly, highly intelligent use of space, as well as the ridiculous cleanliness of it all. I mean, for God’s sake, this whole EP’s been spit shined, it’s amazing.

Avarice is certainly not for the faint of heart, but it absolutely bleeds class and intelligence; from the sound design, right on down to the vocal samples. This is freeform experimental bass music at its finest.
