Matroda – ‘Late Night Talks’ EP

A house music pioneer who has the ability to control the crowd in any state. Matroda releases his ‘Late Night Talks’ EP for the masses. The EP kicks off with ‘Britney,’ a track that Matroda premiered at EDC Las Vegas, featuring electrifying vocals by Dances that guide listeners through each exhilarating drop. The energy continues with ‘Came To The Club’ and ‘Down’ (a collaboration with INDECK.), where minimalistic vocal use allows the groovy, funk-infused basslines to take center stage, delivering infectious rhythms that keep bodies moving. Another standout, ‘When The Bass Kicks In,’ sees Matroda teaming up with fellow Terminal Underground artist Teko to create a pulsating tech house anthem. With its irresistible beat and clean, minimalist vocals, the track encapsulates the high-energy vibe Matroda is celebrated for.
Fred Dope & Luke DB – ‘Alive’

Two artists from Milan bring us ‘Alive’ on none other than DBMAFIA Music Label, pushing a no-nonsense sound the mob could rave to. Sharp rhythms and clunky drops meet vocals from the dance floor police to allow us to shed our ambition and truly live in the moment. Teaming up with UK vocalist Gabi’el, ‘Hypnotic’ is a versatile tech-house track designed to get crowds moving and grooving on the dancefloor.
Erick Diaz, Freshcobar & Lavelle Dupree – Rock With It

San Diego’s NOS Recordings brings the whole team together to offer ‘Rock With It’, a deep rock groove placed over tech house like you have never heard before. Erick Diaz, Freshcobar and Lavelle Dupree’s ‘Rock With It’ hits at the knees, fills the room with energy and serves as a testament to the trio’s ability to push musical boundaries to deliver a fresh sound that defies conventional genres. Rock melded with tech house, has anyone else made it work so well?

Elohim – Power of Panic

The Power Of Panic album cycle has showcased Elohim’s brilliance in creating symbolic and visually striking content while delving into the intense struggles of mental health. Through these tracks, Elohim explores different facets of her journey, shedding light on issues often kept in the shadows. Highlights include ‘Tiny Human,’ which contrasts the vast, busy world with feelings of insignificance, capturing the overwhelming nature of societal pressures. Another standout, ‘Didn’t Sign Up For This,’ candidly addresses the crushing responsibilities and relentless pressures of modern life, highlighting the heavy toll on mental well-being.

Transforming the classic R&B chorus into a dance floor anthem, Levi’s track has surged across Europe and the world as we cannot get enough of it. Keeping us sane until his debut European tour, be sure to stay tuned for more updates from this talented artist.

TATE SEDAR – “Shiver” Remix (John Summit & Hayla)

“Shiver” by John Summit and Hayla struck an unexpected chord with TATE SEDAR at a sensitive yet opportune point in his life. Originally never phased by the Summit sounds or bandwagon and while dealing with months of personal tribulation, SEDAR was ignited by the original vocal hit and emotions of personal events to cultivate over months a remix with all he’s got – exhibiting his own personal progression in music-making. A three-drop project, SEDAR transcends the original from Summit’s charming chord progression and Hayla’s organically-powerful vocal into a tasteful amalgamation of electro house dubstep and even techno.

SUBSHIFT & Cave Studio – Get Loose (feat. LexBlaze)

SUBSHIFT and Cave Studio, featuring LexBlaze, have collaborated once again to deliver an intoxicating tech house release in – “Get Loose.” The inspiration behind this project is rooted in their previous success with “Bumpin'” and a memorable trip to Miami for Miami Music Week. The vibrant atmosphere, superb weather, and the dynamic environment at Retail Records studio inspired them to create a track that embodies the essence of summer.

They envisioned a unique, catchy vocal to elevate the track, and having previously collaborated with LexBlaze, they knew he would be the perfect fit. “Get Loose” is crafted to resonate in diverse settings, from beach clubs to after-hour venues. From the deep basslines in the drop to the exotic and technical design in the percussion – the single exudes and energy and smoothness all in the same run.

In 2013, I had the pleasure of discovering Soulection. This label was and still is an absolute titan of the SoundCloud music scene, pushing forward-thinking and soulful house music for well over a decade now. I can’t count how many artists I’ve discovered thanks to their expert curation, but I’d like to introduce one of my favorites here. I heard the track ‘Magic Drum Machine‘ for the first time after six years of listening to Soulection’s weekly radio show. The sheer groove of the drums with the lyrics of Bell Biv DeVoe’s ‘Poison‘ overlaid had me thinking it must be some new artist I hadn’t heard of from LA, or Chicago, or maybe Detroit. I couldn’t have been further off (literally). Across the pond in a sunny corner of Eastern Europe, the duo Magic Flowers has entered the chat.

Since the fateful day I heard that track for the first time, Magic Flowers hasn’t skipped a beat. I’ve been a raving fan of nearly every one of their releases, ranging from eclectic house beats to ratchet trap edits and everything in between. I couldn’t be more happy to share them with you today. I hope you’re ready to catch a vibe, because these boys came proper!

We’re excited to hear this mix you’ve put together! Can you give us an idea of what our listeners should expect to hear?

With our mix, we want to immerse you in the world of house music. Here, you can hear our releases, unreleased tracks, as well as the tracks we listen to in our headphones or play at parties.

You guys are based in Moldova, correct? I think that’s a pretty unfamiliar corner of the world for a lot of our readers. Can you tell us a bit about what the music scene is like where you live?

Yes, that’s right, we are from Moldova. It’s a small, sunny country neighboring Romania and Ukraine. It’s hard to say that we have a developed music industry, as everything is in the creation stage. Therefore, we strive to introduce people to new music, create parties so that people can discover something new, and in doing so, inspire others, thereby expanding the scene in the country and beyond.

How did you two meet? What led you to making music together as a duo instead of solo projects?

The story of how we met is that the right people introduced and connected us at the right time (Alex was involved in music production, and Vasile performed as a DJ in a creative promo team). After realizing that we shared the same musical tastes, we decided to join forces and show the world Magic Flowers, our vibe, and style!

Your music really transcends a number of genres, fusing elements of trap, house, garage, etc. Could you tell us about some of your musical inspirations and what they mean to you?

You correctly noted that we can’t classify ourselves within a specific genre because we love music deeply (Both Alex and Vasile danced in early childhood). As we grew older, we explored new styles and genres, simultaneously sharing our vision with the world. When we started Magic Flowers, some of our main inspirations were Soulection. We liked and still like every artist released there, and all the music played on their radio show and in their community. We always dreamed that our track would someday be played there. So, when it happened, we realized we were on the right track and that all our ideas were not just fantasies but achievable goals – the main thing is to believe and do what you love.

What is your music-making process like? Do you tend to just experiment in the studio, or do you have concrete ideas that you like to build on when you’re writing a new track?

We don’t think we have a specific process for creating music. Most often, we share different music and samples, then develop an idea around 1-2 samples, turning it into a loop and then into a full track. It can be a remix or an original track; the most important thing is its mood.

Would you say you make music more for yourselves, or for your listeners? Do you ever feel pressured to change a track you’ve written because it might not be what listeners expect?

Honestly, we don’t feel strong pressure from listeners. Of course, we have some mild concerns about our various releases, as today we might release a House track, tomorrow a Jungle track, and the day after, UK Garage. But in each of these tracks, you can hear our signature, our vision, so in each of them, you can hear Magic Flowers. We have developed and continue to develop our sound and style so that people can recognize us. You could say that we want to surprise our listeners and show them something new without just following their lead.

Do you have any big plans in store for the rest of 2024?

Regarding our plans for 2024, we would like to travel more and perform outside our country, sharing our vibe worldwide. Right now, we are focused on working so that by autumn we can travel more. This summer, we will perform at the cool and large Electric Castle festival in Romania, which is also very important for us as we will be playing for an audience that knows little about us. Therefore, we want to give them a pleasant surprise so they continue this journey with us. Of course, we plan to release many tracks and strive to release music regularly.

Two-part question! What’s your biggest accomplishment in your eyes, and conversely, what’s a goal you’ve always wanted to achieve but haven’t yet?

As we mentioned earlier, some of our inspirations were and remain artists from the Soulection community. For us, the most gratifying thing was that our tracks started appearing there, which was a major boost for us as artists, giving us the strength and motivation to keep working. Another goal for us is to perform at Boiler Room, to showcase our taste and vibe, and introduce people to new music!

Who are some artists on your radar right now that our readers might not know about?

We definitely recommend you listen to such up-and-coming producers and DJs as GEE LEE (we played our new unreleased track with him in this mix), Jack Marlow, and Tui.

Do you have any words of wisdom for aspiring producers?

The most important thing is to do what you love, whether it’s dancing, music, graffiti, skateboarding, or anything else. The main thing is to enjoy it, as any activity you love will always grow. Especially to musicians, DJs, producers, and artists, we want to say to always follow the path you have chosen and believe in it because everything will work out if you believe in what you do and love your craft. It may sound cliché, but we believe in and love what we do and want to pass on this vibe.

Bleu Clair – ‘Inner Circle’ EP

Bleu Clair’s latest EP, ‘Inner Circle,’ exemplifies the essence of his ‘NEWAGEOFHOUSE’ movement. This release captures the pioneering spirit that Bleu Clair has infused into the tech house genre, highlighting a sound that is both distinctive and identifiable by his fan base. His meticulous attention to detail and cohesive thematic elements set his music apart, positioning him as a true legend driving the house music scene forward. The EP includes three fresh singles: ‘Bring The Hats On,’ ‘Hold On,’ and ‘Want Me Back,’ each offering a deeper, more insightful look into Bleu Clair’s sonic evolution in 2024.

San Pacho – ‘No Guest List’ EP

San Pacho is a natural when it comes down to pumping up the party and his No Guest List EP only proves this further. The collection includes singles that have energized crowds at major festivals and this is the ideal time to bump these tunes as we enter the festival season. The EP includes six singles, featuring new tracks ‘To Di Drum’ and ‘Cha Cha Cha,’ along with a VIP version of ‘Amor.’ This collection showcases San Pacho’s musical direction for the year and takes listeners on a journey through the new era of house music driven by the man himself.

R-CHY x BoweD – ‘Do It’

You may have heard R-CHY’s releases being aired at Tomorrowland by Tiësto, Alan Walker, or Ilkay Sencan, but now he is about to rile up the dance floor this festival season. ‘Do It’ with Brazilian artist BoweD is a deep-house tune crafted perfectly for those summertime beach and pool parties. It will get you dancing right off the bat and R-CHY never disappoints when it comes down to showcasing his energetic, yet groovy sound design. As he shares “the track’s journey began with a collaboration with BoweD, a supremely talented Brazilian artist. He sent me around ten demos, but this particular one immediately caught my attention. I played around with the stems he sent, enhancing the sound design of the main lead, revamping the kick, and layering in new drum patterns. Additionally, I incorporated unique vocal edits that vary rhythmically throughout the track, rounding it out with a thorough mix and master.”

Proppa x CJ – ‘Steppin’ Out’

If you do not know the Denver-based artist known as CJ, now is the time to keep him on your radar as this rising talent in the house scene has become known for his vibrant personality and dancefloor-ready singles across festivals. Recently playing Regenerate Festival on the main stage and now teaming up with his good friend Proppa for their new single ‘Steppin’ Out’ via Hood Politics, CJ really does it all. Combining elements of house, funk, and hip-hop, ‘Steppin’ Out’ has an appeal like no other. With tight drum beats, a rumbling bass groove, and nods to old-school inspiration, this track promises a summer groove ready to be blasted on the speakers. It’s perfect for kickstarting any party and resonates with both seasoned house fans and newcomers alike.

Jhayco – ‘Holanda’ (Lil Tato Edit)

Jhayco has been a leading force in reggaeton, collaborating with industry heavyweights like Skrillex, Cardi B, and Bad Bunny. His journey from early beginnings in Puerto Rico to international success includes chart-topping hits and critical acclaim, notably with his sophomore album, Timelezz, reaching number two on the Top Latin Albums chart and most of us are familiar with his single ‘Holanda’ that Mexico’s Lil Tato racks over to the house music world for a top-notch latin house remix. Lil Tato is becoming essential for his ability to craft Latin music with minimalism yet potency that attracts pure house heads and reggaeton weekend warriors uniting the dancefloors worldwide.

LEFTI – ‘I’m On FIre’

LEFTI, the brainchild of producer Alex Suarez, releases ‘I’m On Fire,’ a single that deeply embodies the essence of warehouse-party culture while introducing a hybrid sound concept. The track channels the intensity of a peak-hour warehouse rave, merging analog acid elements with a strong tech house base. LEFTI’s bold technique and high-energy soundscapes involve slicing up an acapella to form new phrases, then enlisting a vocalist to re-record these segments, creating an energetic and compelling vocal line. A solid tune for the masses, this one is about the be played on repeat.

Bexxie – ‘Gotta Be Real’

Bexxie has been marinating her classic 90’s rave vibes into her music for years, cooking a sound that sounds as good as home cook meals smell. Recently, Bexxie has revealed ‘Gotta Be Real’ on Insomniac’s IN/ ROTATION and it is truly impeccable. The disco vocals speak to you like your best friend making perfect sense and tied with the big room energy, Bexxie makes this house record essential to experience.

This year we saw several Wave producers embarking on new sonic journeys. Some have flirted with drum&bass, some with phonk and others have dabbled in trance and other declinations of four-on-the-floor rhythms. ÆSTRAL is one of the heavyweights of the scene involved in this trend, and his new EP, Last Dance, fully embraces these latter genres. Mainly known for his highly cinematic wave cuts, with Last Dance the Polish producer turned the tables, delivering a project that indulges in the borderline between progressive house and melodic techno.

“For some good time, I felt stuck with making music, everything felt the same and sounded the same making the typical Wave sound I was so used to. I felt the need to change the trajectory a bit” ÆSTRAL tells us about the nature of the project.

The three singles that preceded the full release of Last Dance, ‘Regret’, ‘Despair’ (one of my favourite songs of the whole year), and ‘Affection’ (a beautiful Rufus Du Sol-like ballad) were already a clear and unequivocal manifesto of the direction taken by ÆSTRAL, but the three unreleased tracks that complete the EP further enrich and broaden the project’s scope.

“I feel like Last Dance is a mixture of everything in my head. There’s techno, there’s a house tune with STAHL (Hope), witchwave and even some dark witch house with enjoii (Grief). I wanted the project to be an experience!” ÆSTRAL adds. “As any other artist, 90% of the songs you make never come out to the outside world and at that time, most of those unreleased material was four to the floors tracks and experiments with analog sounds. After a while, I told myself, “Why won’t you just release it and see how it goes?” I’m happy I did it. The reception from the fans has been nothing but warm so far.”

In addition to the roll out of the three singles, over the past few months, ÆSTRAL has been busy taking his EP-themed show, LAST DANCE:LIVE, on tour across Center and East Europe, playing in cities like Warsaw and Eindhoven.

For long-time fans of ÆSTRAL’s signature sound, however, there is nothing to fear. Although touching upon new genres, the beloved aery and melancholic touch that characterized his previous creations is deeply rooted in these six songs as well. “I feel like dropping EPs and albums is kinda like getting tattoos, some people give them meaning and some don’t. To be honest, I never do, but in this case, I did give Last Dance a meaning. It’s supposed to feel like that last dance you might have had with somebody you loved, someone important. As the tracklist says, from the beginning to the end, from Affection to Grief, it’s a whole process that most humans have to cope with at some point in their lives. I tried my best to portray these emotions in my own way.”
