ETC!ETC! & SpydaT.E.K team up with Audio Kartel to get down on ‘Bang’. This track lays down the reggaetón sound with heavy slaps with a vigorous rhythm, blaring synths, and big party vibes. The background vocals become clear as they approach the foreground and aggressively repeat simply, “Guns on my waist.” This track is definitely one to get hyped to and lap up the energy that just oozes from the clips of sirens, gunfire, and creeping, big bass. The urge to get up and bounce to this one is damn near irresistible.

For the other two tracks, ETC!ETC! works magic with Spyda T.E.K, creating original sounds with the same big bass and high energy as ‘Bang’. With more of a massive sound, ‘Sueltalo’ brings serious amounts of drama and energy, but here’s also a playful flute sample that stirs up the attitude before some deep male vocals lead into the meatier center of this track. There’s a hardy theatrical build-up but the intensity is kept high even when the track bounces right back into a brassy horn and reggaetón swagger. It’s different, fun and definitely gives off sunny summer party vibes. 

‘Dale Dale’ wastes no time and immediately inundates you with quick lyrics and a beat. As the beat gets layered in with punchy drums, saucy snares, the lyrics get more ferocious and the drama builds as the break approaches. The swift nature of all the track’s elements creates a kind of fervor for the drop. Deeper into the track, the richness of the reggaetón rhythms come out until its blooming with brassy horns and the classic beat of a strong kick drum. It’s fun to the finale since there’s a bit of a breakdown towards the tail end that gives ‘Dale Dale’ a strong finish.

The original ‘Machika’ is a three-way collaborative effort by Arabian, Colombian, and Brazilian singers- J. Balvin, Jeon, and Anitta (respectively). It has been climbing the charts around the world, released through Capitol Records and Universal Music Latin on Balvin’s upcoming studio album.  The title of the track, machika, means ‘to smash’ in the creole language of  Papiamento- a Spanish Creole language with influences from Portuguese and Dutch with speakers in Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. 

‘Machika’ seemed ripe for the taking when Francis plucked it. After stewing it in some bass, playing up the vibrancy of the horns, and leaving the vocal sample’s intensity intact, Francis makes this latin-pop single steamier. Francis’ ‘Machika’ is playful, sexy, and high energy with a plentiful, steady beat to roll your hips to. It is the perfect item for your summer party playlist, with its salty moombahton sounds and sultry latin vibes.

This sultry track is ripe with a luscious tempo, and smokey breaks between earthy bass. Plush horns, salty synths, and trembling percussions drive this creamy dream of a dance track, that makes it the perfectly mellow, but still steamy. Fuego’s velvety voice flutters sweet-talking lyrics along Dillon’s romantic, latin-electro instrumental style.Hopefully there are plenty of other sexy-smooth tracks on Francis’s album, due to be released later this year, but certainly there will be during Francis’s plentiful tour dates, which you can check here. Leading the pack is ‘Fyre’. As the deep-dark vocals refrain ‘Ga-ga-ganja/Roll up the weed/ Fire” a fast-paced BPM classic to the Moombah style, you suddenly realize you’re ready to party. ETC!ETC! has created yet another, bass-heavy, track that makes you want to dance like a flame flickers next to a subwoofer. Even though this is a dance track, it still feels dark and spooky with break-downs, breathy sirens, and gun-cocking sound effects. Sparking off the speakers, this track was made to get you hyped.

The title track, ‘#NOTMYTEMPO’ which ETC!ETC! teamed up with Bro Safari is one of, if not the dankest track. With a quick-steady, reggeaton beat that is introduced by rising synths, and a vicious drop into the meat of the rhythm. ETC!ETC! and Safari created a spell-binder with its aggressive, swirling sirens and hardy build-ups. My only issue is that it is over way too soon for all the punch that is packed into it.

‘Dame Mas’ has yet another heart-racing tempo that is smashed with throbbing synths, and sexy vocals. You could bachata and head-bang to this fusion of Caribbean and traditional flavors. Thundering, plunky bass paired with the steady swish of a maraca sample makes for an irresistible combination you just have to shake your hips to.

Intermixed with this heavy dance tracks, are gems like ‘Pon El Radio’, which is an interesting blend of live-horns, and an airy bongo-drums reminding the listener where ETC!ETC! draws his inspiration from.

Filled with their signature sound but with a mish-mash of influences thrown in for good measure (including trap, Moombahton and progressive house), it’s a real feast for all bass music fans out there.

‘Dibre’, a collaboration with DKVPZ, flexes a familiar vocal sample over beefed up trap beats which gets really good after the second drop. You also get ‘Aceita,’ which is pure and unadulterated Brazilian carnival vibes but ‘Disbroqueia a Tela’ really stands out with its percussion grooves – it is guaranteed to start a party.

A solid offering here from Tropkillaz.
