c8o has been on our radar for over a year, becoming a mainstay in our weekly FUXWITHITFRIDAYS playlists. His sound mixes elements of golden era trap with modern wave for a signature that is emotive yet banging. The DC-based producer has been dropping a steady stream of standout releases from ‘TRIPLE7s‘ to ‘!inmymind’, and ‘x111’ with Sillage. With his momentum steadily building, we thought it was due time to connect with the artist for a guest mix + interview.

The mix is a showcase of the producer’s impressive sound with a stack of unreleased gems. As for the interview, we discuss what makes his sound unique, his sobriety journey, his love for 2016 trap, and much more. Listen below.

Tell us about the mix? Where are we going when we press play?

This mix is an accumulation of tracks from the last 2-3 years of my life. There are tracks in here that I made before getting sober, during detox, and now while in active recovery. I also threw in some tracks I found at important moments throughout the journey. The mix is a great reflection of the energy I bring into live shows. It presents who I am and where I came from in a vulnerable, authentic, and fun way. I am really excited to share it all with you.

What are the key ingredients to a c8o track? How do you finesse them to make them truly your own?

I always start with the drums. It is the spine of all my tracks. They really serve as the punctuation to my message. I like to make them bouncy, loud, and upfront.

I then try to contrast my percussion with a large bright atmosphere so each hit takes away the space.

Lastly when flipping samples or processing my synths I always try to add some sort of wonky distortion or glitch effect. I feel like it adds a lot of texture which is hard to replicate the same way every time. This makes every track just a little different. It’s the cherry on top when making each track my own.

Things just keep getting better, colors seem a bit brighter, I notice when people smile, I have become more comfortable with eye contact, and overall more grounded in the present moment.

Congratulations on your sobriety! How has the journey been so far?

Thank you! <3

Right now: things just keep getting better, colors seem a bit brighter, I notice when people smile, I have become more comfortable with eye contact, and overall more grounded in the present moment.

Every small sign over the last few years has pointed in the same direction — that this is the path I’m meant to be on.

It was not easy by any stretch but the closeness I was able to form with myself and the people around me have made it all worth the effort. I couldn’t do it alone and I owe it to my community for all the help on this journey.

Has getting sober impacted your music and the way you create?

It has in a lot of ways. Sobriety forces you to be authentic with yourself and others. You shed a lot of your ego in recovery so there isn’t a mask anymore.

When it comes to being accountable to the practice– I can’t hide behind any excuses. If someone has feedback I take inventory and listen. If I need to try something new or uncomfortable I don’t debate it. I just go. This for me results in art that is more authentic. Because the emotions are so fresh in your mind… there is no hiding from your truth.

What’s the key to making tracks that are emotional but still knock?

From the technical side of things that is going to look different for everyone. There are a billion things you could do to make something knock. I personally like to use a lot of clipping, compression, limiting, and saturation.

But those choices mean nothing if they are not informed by the feelings first.

If I could give someone a starting spot that they could build an emotional production from: All emotions are founded on a lifetime of experiences… Draw inspiration from a childhood song, a video game, a tv show, or a picture.

Those core memories really got the gears spinning for me and over time that began to inform the more technical production choices I made.

The future depends on artists who reach beyond the EDM bubble and create without letting social media dictate the process.

You’ve been talking about 2016 as a golden era for trap. What made it so special to you? What elements of the era are missing in modern music? How do we bring it back?

2016 was a rare moment in music. Some of the magic for me is definitely nostalgia, but in truth that era really was different. It was raw, accessible, and free of rigid rules. Trap lived in this sweet spot between underground and mainstream, experimental yet polished, and emotional yet heavy. The cultural crossover was booming — online communities lifted artists into the spotlight. Artists wrote love letters to what inspired them through the music they released. The climate was soulful, communal, and alive.

Today, much of music feels commercialized, with artists chasing trends or viral moments. Everything feels locked into these air-tight genre boxes that don’t invite much from outside. To bring back what made 2016 special, we need to be honest with ourselves: Are we building community? Are we taking risks? Is our art timeless or is it just trending? The future depends on artists who reach beyond the EDM bubble and create without letting social media dictate the process.

What’s the best single moment you’ve been able to experience through music?

This was around the time I was starting to take my music seriously. I was with my dad at a blues show in downtown DC. We were seeing Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears.

It was a super fun night all around. Such great energy. During the intermission, he looked back to me and said “just keep doing this music thing, I don’t know where it is going to take you, but just keep doing it.”

Those words have been ringing in my head since.

It was such a small moment but it stuck with me because I’m sort of the oddball in the family. Everyone went to work on the corporate side of things and I dug my heels into the ground to go after music.

My father played a key role in my sobriety and hearing him validate the work I had been putting into music and myself gave me a lot of momentum to keep pushing full force.

How much of the music that you make do you actually release? What determines if a song is release-worthy?

I release about 20-25% of what I make. So every 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 tracks will get put on the calendar.

A song has to give me chills. If I’m not having a physical reaction to the song, it means I haven’t communicated the perspective clearly. It won’t translate to anyone else emotionally if it doesn’t translate to me in the same way.

Put into the world what you wish there was more of, your best ideas are ahead of you, and try to laugh a bit while you do it all.

What advice would you give new producers who are still early in their journey?

Put into the world what you wish there was more of, your best ideas are ahead of you, and try to laugh a bit while you do it all.

At the end of the day we do this for fun, we do it for ourselves, and we do it to bring people together. Don’t lose that ever.

When you’re not working on music, how do you enjoy spending your time?

I love to play silly video games with my friends and I enjoy lifting at the gym. It really helps me de-stress and clear my head when things get hectic.

What do you have planned for the rest of the year?

I am making my NCS debut on the 30th of October and I have a collab with my homie soooshimi dropping in November that I’m super pumped for.

Any final words for fans?

I am just really grateful for this community. I can’t stress that enough. Y’all keep me honest and that is worth more than gold. This medium of art and the people who support it have given me a new life and a new reason to keep going. I’m so excited to bring you guys along for the ride! <3

This week’s guest mix takes us halfway around the world and is a foray into some sounds that you (probably) haven’t heard before. Hailing from Betul, India, Baajewala is an artist whose sound design absolutely blew me away the first time I stumbled upon him. A true pioneer of electronic music in India, Baajewala has seen international success, including a debut EP release on Quality Goods Records and having his tracks being played out live on shows like Triple J Mix Up and Diplo’s Revolution. This man has impeccable taste when it comes to both dubstep and trap music, and his production style features a slew of sounds and instruments that I would wager many western-based producers couldn’t even name. Dive into his interview below to learn more about what inspires his unique take on bass music and what’s in store for the future of Baajewala!

Thank you so much for hopping on today’s guest mix! What kind of vibe are we about to hear from you?

Hey! Thank you so much for having me. Expect some groovy animal sounds blended with hard ahh beats. Just having fun with it, really.

Can you give us a little bit of background about yourself? What made you begin a career in music?

My dad got me a toy keyboard when I was around 5—I had no clue what the buttons did, but I kept pressing them and got hooked. Later, I joined the school band and picked up the guitar at 12. From there on, it just snowballed.

I’m sure most of our readers aren’t intimately familiar with the music scene in India. How would you describe it? Do you think it deserves more recognition internationally?

Absolutely. India has an incredibly diverse music landscape—each region has its own flavor. Producers here have been pushing ethnic sounds with modern beats for years. Even big names like Skrillex are incorporating Indian vocals and vibes now. I think most Western music has its roots in jazz and rhythm-based genres, but here, we’re blending centuries of tradition with new-age sounds. Look at artists like Hanumankind and Kalmi—they’re already breaking through. The underground scene here is evolving fast, and it’s only a matter of time before more Indian artists start showing up on global charts.

Everyone’s using the same synths and plugins, but it’s those real, raw, human elements that stand out to me.

There’s obviously a lot of cultural influence when it comes to the instrumentation in your tracks. What’s your favorite sound/instrument that we don’t hear American and European producers use very often?

I listen to a lot of world music—everything from African to Arabic. But I love the sound of a real sitar, the thump of a dholak, flutes from different cultures… even a distorted guitar or piano can feel so alive. Everyone’s using the same synths and plugins, but it’s those real, raw, human elements that stand out to me.

Do you play any live instruments yourself? If so, what are they?

Yeah! I’ve been playing keyboard since I was a kid. I also mess around with guitar and ukulele, and I have a whole cabinet of percussive instruments and flutes. I’ve got a melodica, a harmonica I’m still figuring out, ghungroos, and even a hang drum. I love picking up new instruments—it comes naturally after watching live musicians.

I think it’s safe to say that your Hell Raiden EP on Quality Goods Records really helped you gain some attention abroad. How did it feel being able to release on such a prominent label? Any future releases in the works with Quality Goods or anyone else?

Honestly, it was surreal. I come from a small town where most people don’t even know what dubstep is. I discovered electronic music thanks to the internet—ripping UZ, Hucci, TroyBoi tracks off EDM.com. So when I saw UZ comment on Reddit about one of my songs and then repost it? That was a full-circle moment. Working with QGR was such a learning experience, especially on the promotion and curation side. Would love to work with them again, or anyone pushing the envelope.

When we proposed this guest mix, you mentioned it had been a while since you had done a proper mix to release. Does that mean most of your time lately is spent in the studio working on new songs instead?

Definitely. I’ve been working more as a record producer than a DJ these days. There aren’t many consistent ways to make money from music here unless you blow up, so I’ve been doing freelance audio engineering and production work to pay the bills. On my off days, I’m back in my own world—making beats, finishing tracks, and sending stuff out to collaborators.

Just listening to all kinds of music and thinking: “What made the artist make this?” I love diving into new genres, studying older contemporary music, and reading about art in general. I’m pretty much immersed in music all the time.

Who or what are your biggest sources of inspiration when it comes to music?

Just listening to all kinds of music and thinking: “What made the artist make this?” I love diving into new genres, studying older contemporary music, and reading about art in general. I’m pretty much immersed in music all the time. Some of my all-time inspirations are A.R. Rahman, Skrillex, Mithoon, Amit Trivedi, Sneha Khanwalkar. Bollywood music is in my DNA—it shaped the way I hear and create music.

Are there any big plans you have for 2025, music-related or otherwise?

Yes! I’m currently working on my first album as a singer-songwriter/producer. I’ve also got a bunch of dubstep stuff ready for the good ol’ SoundCloud fam. And some collabs from last year are finally dropping soon. Exciting times!

Who are some underground artists you’d like to shine a light on for our readers? Bonus points for more Indian artists that deserve some attention!

Haha, love that! Shoutout to Kriday, Brijplease/Three Oscillators, UKato, and Kalmi—some truly innovative sounds coming from them. Also, my favorite collaborators: Nanku, Karun, GHILDIYAL, and Frappe Ash. They’re all pushing boundaries and bringing something new to the table.

Do you have time for any hobbies outside of music? How do you spend your free time?

I’ve recently gotten into reading and have been trying to learn how to cook—planning to move out on my own soon. I spend a lot of time chatting with my parents and friends, and I try to go out now and then just to clear my head.

AI can make you melodies but pressing keys and putting out the vibrations of the heart is only a living Human’s ability!

What words of inspiration would you like to give to anyone aspiring to learn how to produce?

I would say focus on being a good musician, AI can make you melodies but pressing keys and putting out the vibrations of the heart is only a living Human’s ability! Also, use your DAW and technology as your toy.

Any last words for our readers? Anything at all!

It’s been so nice talking about dubstep again after ages. As the (not-so-new) Skrillex album says, “Skrillex is dead”… but I’m excited to see what’s next.

Bi-Coastal bass duo smalltalk have been putting their unique stamp on the underground with a sound that moves from trap to 140, experimental bass, and beyond. After blessing us with an incredible guest mix at the top of the year, the pair make their label debut. ‘Snapback’ is a wonky 140 dubstep anthem that’s gritty and addictive.

‘Snapback’ is a shadowy banger built for renegade raves, late-night forest festivals, and dank basement sets. Pitched-down and looped rap vocals give the track a menacing swagger that i’s amplified by the gritty sound design, cavernous bass, and snappy drum programming. The simple vocal is pitched, looped, and flipped giving it a catchy hook that pulls you through the darkness. The distorted basslines offer soul-shaking low end that will push speakers to their limits. Monstrous growls, shifting frequencies, and subtle ear candy round out the sound for a truly masterful 140 heater. smalltalk are one the most promising duos in bass music right now and ‘Snapback’ showcases why.

This one is super deep and dark, so probably some late-night renegade party in the woods. Or at your grandma’s birthday party. – Smalltalk

Munich-based producer Lenny has been a longtime favourite at FUXWITHIT. From stellar solo slappers to massive collaborations alongside capshun, Golden Child, TaDa, Dabow, SL!De, and more, whenever Lenny drops you know you’re in for some heat. With a signature style that blends booming bass with cinematic and otherworldly soundscapes, it should come as no surprise that he’s stacked up several premieres on our site in addition to a label release. Returning to fine form comes his latest offering ‘Dune.’

‘Dune’ is a captivating voyage to a mystical alien planet with hints of nostalgia sprinkled throughout. Cinematic strings sweep you away to a distant land brimming with danger and intrigue. Snappy percussion and trap grunts set the stage for thundering 808s and gritty vox that instantly inject an epic OG trap feel. It’s the golden era trap sound that we’ve been longing for more artists to revisit. Minimal yet masterful ‘Dune’ brings the bounce while also offering a stunning sonic escape. Clocking in at only a minute and thirty seconds, you’ll be jamming this one on repeat.

“Dune” is supposed to take the listener back into the golden era of SoundCloud trap. Most of my tracks I make in this style are deeply inspired by the years back then and can be considered a homage. To this day, I love the music that got released all these years ago and it’s still utterly unique to me. I can drain endless inspiration from those tunes and have done so until today. I’m hoping my tracks can pass on the spark that I find in that music to todays listeners.

Los Angeles-based producer HMU has been a mainstay in the underground bass scene for years. Both as an artist and as the creative mind behind the incredible Don’t Die At Work Collective and label. As a longtime friend and featured artist on our site, it’s overdue that he makes his debut on the label. Joining forces with London emcee KXNE, the pair cook up a monster anthem in the form ‘Pages.’

We’re at a great moment right now where new voices and different approaches to production are evolving a sound inspired by some classic genres. Hopefully, people appreciate our take. And of course, to bring the energy to the dancefloor. – HMU

‘Pages’ is the perfect fusion of the sounds we love most at the moment. The bass-heavy banger is centered around KXNE’s charismatic flow, razor-sharp bars, and commanding delivery, offering a signature grime edge. Crisp percussion lays a swag-fueled foundation that is bolstered by menacing sub-bass and massive trap horns. Layering the drops with the verses beefs up both as KXNE flexes his skills over the gritty and wonky basslines. The namesake vocals are looped and filtered creating a powerful hook that builds into a massive second verse. Deepening the bass, HMU takes the production to another level with a speaker-filling explosion that’s matched by the mosh-pit-inducing raps and slick wordplay. ‘Pages’ is the perfect balance between grime, trap, and 140, making it an instant anthem.

KXNE gives listeners a taste of what to expect when they press play, saying, “Grime, adrenaline, urban city life in London or any major UK city worldwide. Think ‘Top Boy’.”

Listen below and stream it on all platforms. Don’t forget to grab the free download.

The vision of Good Society never fails to impress. Its soul essence completely vibrates the underground with its purpose and beautiful execution. From the wonderful team pushing these artists’ sounds to a new height, to the artists themselves creating mind-blowing pieces to honor their journey, they’ve created an honorable and memorable effect that’ll last for many years. And with their newest compilation, Good Society Volume 4, they’ve recruited some of the best within the electronic spectrum to highlight their talents and skills. If you’ve been following the label for some time now, you’ll instantly know you’re in for a treat.

The Good Society compilation series is one I have and will always put the entirety of the brand behind. For this one, we’ve booked out a Catalina Island Ferry in LA County for a two stage bonanza out at sea to create a big splash when it comes to its live debut! This one featuring Maddy O’Neal, sumthin sumthin, Dennett, rSun, & more.” – Josh Yamini (Founder of Good Society)

These artists knocked it out of the park to say the least! And what a roster! From a bass-infused wonderland from sumthin sumthin and ero808, a hypnotic and glitchy masterpiece from Dennett, to a fun and energetic playground of rhythm from Dabow, the range is truly immaculate from each tune. Highlighting their characteristics in a unique and powerful form. It’s a list of pure chaos that will melt down any dance floor around the world. The pacing throughout each track is organic, satisfying, and a breath of fresh air. Leaving listeners feeling inspired and hyped up to hear more. Bravo to each and every musician that’s a part of this. Everyone gave it their all and it paid off beautifully. So make sure to show your support by streaming Good Society Volume 4 everywhere!

UK producer Hucci is the definition of an OG in the electronic trap scene. From the iconic ‘Ball So Hard‘ with Stooki Sound, to solo releases like ‘Hitta’ and ‘The Fall,’ the producer has cemented his status as one of the genre’s greats. Over the years trap has seen a wide range of variations, often leaning into more chaotic and intense sounds, rather than riding the waves, Hucci continues to charter his own course. Leaning into the signature that fans have come to love; a mystifying mixture of moody vibe-laden sound palettes, booming bass, and perfected percussion.

Last year saw Hucci return with a vengeance on the heavy-hitting TroyBoi collaboration ‘Interstellar.‘ The track arrived as part of TroyBoi’s Say Less EP which features a stack of exceptional collaborations with fellow trap royalty. Hot off the release of ‘Cleopatra’ last month comes his latest single ‘Street League,’ a hazy heater that is assured to please longtime fans.

Blurring the boundaries between laid-back and banging, ‘Street League’ occupies that special space that Hucci loves to live within. Stormy samples and distorted riffs set the stage for a cinematic opening with an understated score drifting below snappy drum programming. Swagged-out rap vocals welcome listeners to a hazed-out drop that’s engulfed in kush clouds. Booming 808s and precision percussion cut through the smoke balancing an undeniable bump that contrasts the vibey aesthetic.

Toronto-based producer Dropwizz has been a mainstay in the trap and bass scene for years. He is renowned for his hard-hitting drums, beastly bass, and hypnotic sound design. Putting those talents on full display comes the fittingly titled new single ‘Rave.’ The track marks his third release on FUXWITHIT following ‘Burn’ and ‘Gulag’.

‘Rave’ is a dark trap anthem built for festivals and basement clubs. Luring listeners in with a hypnotic melody, the vocal samples give the track a continuous progression that is amplified by the shadowy low end. Snappy trap drums inject a militant punch perfectly building into the blistering first drop. The brain-bending rave-ready lead drives the energy as the track mixes gritty textures with booming bass. Just when you think you have the track pinned down, Dropwizz adds in a majestic flute that gives the track a mystifying organic character. Far from a copy-and-paste second drop, the producer flips the track on its head somehow getting wonkier, harder, and darker. The addictive vocals tie it all together creating a truly timeless banger. Dropwizz continues to be one of the most consistent producers in the scene, and ‘Rave’ is just another striking example as to why.

Listeners will experience a sonic journey of dark melodics and heavy-hitting drums throughout this track. The intro lures you in with a mysterious atmosphere which leads into a whirlwind of driving basslines and intricate rhythms when the drop hits. When the storm calms you’re met with otherworldly flutes that shimmer into the second drop where you’re hit by a wave of euphoria and exhilaration as the tension rises with even heavier basslines and synthwork. – Dropwizz

Bursting onto our radar with a barrage of bizarre and banging releases on Quality Goods Records, Hypergeneration has captivated our attention with a sound that fuses hyperpop, hard-hitting trap, and an underlying social commentary on our addiction to technology and social media. The dichotomy between the internet-inspired sound and the critique of our need for constant over-stimulation creates an intriguing juxtaposition that’s thought-provoking and deeply entertaining. If you’re a fan of artists like SOPHIE, umru, TNGHT, and UZ, and you haven’t given the relatively unknown artist a listen, there’s no time like the present.

Connecting with us for our 247th Guest Mix + Interview, Hypergeneration unleashes a frenetic half-hour of head-spinning electronic music that mixes a wide array of his own originals with the works that inspired the project. The interview is a must-read with us discussing his artistic journey, mixing sweet and dark, social media addiction, the idea of disconnecting, AI, and much more. This is one of the more interesting conversations I’ve had with an artist as of late. So don’t sleep.

Tell us about the mix. What should listeners expect when they press play?

The mix is a pretty high-octane blend of all kinds of music. Some absolute classics that my music draws inspiration from, a bunch of ID’s and ruthless beats.

One of the questions that I asked myself was “How far can I take a piece of music, structurally and sound design wise, before it becomes too much?” Within the Hypergeneration project I constantly try to find the answer to this question.

What inspired you to start making music? How has your journey evolved?

I’ve been making music under different aliases for a long time and found myself and while I have always loved producing music, I did find myself becoming more and more careful to not make ‘extreme’ electronic music. As if something in my mind had made me become scared of doing something that’s really out there. After all those years, one of the questions that I asked myself was “How far can I take a piece of music, structurally and sound design wise, before it becomes too much?” Within the Hypergeneration project I constantly try to find the answer to this question.

Your sound mixes hyperpop with a heavy-hitting gold-era trap sound. What birthed this fusion?

I feel I have a lot of incredible artists to thank for inspiring me to blend these sounds together. SOPHIE, MssingNo, Lunice, AWE, UZ, umru, all great minds and souls that have, in their own ways, paved the way for this blend of music. What I aim to do is to create my own take on it, and push the production and song structures to it’s limits even more. There’s something so inherently fun about making music in this realm. There are no rules. And the combination of super aggressive production, hard-hitting 808’s and kicks, with sugary sweet vocals is something that really clicks for me at this stage.

There is definitely a sense of dread that seeps through the cracks of the music this way. Almost like looking at a happy family portrait and noticing in the background there’s a house on fire.

There’s an interesting dichotomy between the sugary sweet vocals and dark and heavy production on many of your tracks. Can you speak to that contrast and what it represents?

I think for me the definition of that dichotomy in my music is ‘sugarcoated chaos’. It tastes sweet at first, but when you really start to listen or look into the lyrics, you’ll find that it’s chaotic in nature. For me there is definitely a sense of dread that seeps through the cracks of the music this way. Almost like looking at a happy family portrait and noticing in the background there’s a house on fire. I feel that a lot of that dread stems from my views on modern technology and society. At the moment, a lot of terrifying stuff is happening all around the world, and somehow there is still a tendency to sugarcoat the chaos and cover it up with digital bandaids.

What does Hypergeneration mean to you?

Hypergeneration to me is something we are all part of in a way. Our attention spans are shortening, consumerism in both the physical and digital realm are reaching new heights all the time, and it does feel like a never ending cycle to me sometimes. I think that we are in an era of existential dilemmas maybe even more so than an era of technological development.

From ‘Doomscroll,’ to ‘Cloud Monkey,’ and ‘Candyland’ a lot of your work seems to be rooted in commentary around our addictions to technology and social media. How do you navigate these things within your own life?

The main thing I try to achieve with my commentary is to make it super over the top so I can find ridicule in the topics I comment on. For me, ridicule helps to make it feel less of a doomsday spiral. It’s my way of sugarcoating the chaos of modern digital existence. For instance in Cloud Monkey, I wrote it from a perspective where our online user data and cloud data would be controlled by a literal monkey in the clouds. The monkey knows everything about us, it knows what we crave, and we will never be able to get it out of our lives anymore. It’s just there, looming over our heads all the time, eating tracking cookies and intercepting our social media traffic. In my own life I tend to take breaks from everything social media every now and then. There’s just so so so much that we see and absorb on these platforms. However strong I think I am, I just know that a lot of the stuff that’s being fed to me on socials, will reach me, and stick with me for a while. The more I accept that it is in fact an addiction, the more I can actually start to change something about it.

I would say that we don’t need to disconnect, but I feel we could benefit from some balance by also connecting more on a personal, human level. Breaking away from endlessly scrolling every now and then to touch grass and meet new people sounds like something that could really help.

Do you think the world would be better off if we were more disconnected?

I would not say being more disconnected would help. I do believe that our current sense of what that ‘connection’ actually means is skewed. Connectedness in the sense of being chronically online and being able to interact with anything and everything, all of the time (thank you Bo Burnham) with zero accountability feels like a very shallow and unfulfilling form of connection in the long term. And I think that shallowness leaves a lot of room for our fears, anxieties, and uncertainties to grow into unpleasant levels or even hateful rhetoric. Actual human connection with the world around us can be so much more complex and scary, but also much more rewarding in my personal opinion. So to answer your question, I would say that we don’t need to disconnect, but I feel we could benefit from some balance by also connecting more on a personal, human level. Breaking away from endlessly scrolling every now and then to touch grass and meet new people sounds like something that could really help.

The rise of AI has been a hot topic in the past few years. Do you utilize the technology? How do you feel about it overall?

I do utilize some parts of AI, mainly in the visual department I find it to be fun to experiment with. The technological achievements in the field of AI are nothing short of incredible to me, although there is a part of it that confuses me and sometimes scares me. For me the main fear of AI is it’s combination with social media. I think that is a doomsday cocktail of immense proportions waiting to happen (or already happening). At this point in time, we already have a hard time determining if a video is a fake or not and if something is written by AI or not. Imagine what that will be like in a few years time. There’s no way around AI implementation in more and more of our lives so my view is to embrace the cool parts of it, and keep a close look eye on the scary effects it can have on society. I also think it creates the need for ‘AI counter culture’ where people will want to go to concerts or see creatives in a live setting because they want that human aspect to connect with.

How did you connect with Quality Goods Records? What’s it been like working with the label?

They heard some of the music in the early stages and we’re very enthusiastic about it. The team behind the label is absolutely incredible and very structured. It felt like a breath of fresh air to work with a team so dedicated to putting out music that they believe in and also being very kind and helpful, especially for a freshly starting artist like myself.

What’s the last piece of art (movie, book, film, painting, song, album, etc.) that deeply impacted you, and what made it resonate with you?

I personally really enjoyed the film ‘American Fiction’ because of it’s story and soundtrack. The film itself caught me so off guard and is in a way a bit of a paradox (trying not to spoil anything here). In terms of music I have been loving the latest Tierra Whack album. I had been waiting for that for a while.

What’s on the horizon for you in the future?

I’m definitely eager to release more music in the near future to expand on the world I am building. There’s a bunch of ID’s in this mix that will hopefully see the light of day soon.

Any final thoughts you’d like to share?

I wanted to say thanks to you for giving me this opportunity and asking me these questions. This was honestly a very fun mix to make and these questions were spot on.
