Before the Canadian power-duo 401 WST came together, both DJ 4Korners and Ashton Adams were independent artists with a mission to bring people together and ensure everyone was having a good time. With 4Korners throwing down his eclectic production style ranging from hip-hop, trap, bass house, and even afro-beats across the world to being known as the official DJ of the Toronto Raptors, this producer does not mess around when it comes down to exceeding all expectations on the dance-floor. On the other hand, you have Adam’s impressive ability to expand across a variety of genres while being heavily influenced by classic hip-hop artists such as 50 Cent and Lil Wayne to a taste of heavy metal bands such as August Burns Red which is undeniably apparent in his signature sound. Fully convinced these genre-defying producers are a power-duo to keep on your radar? Well, 401 WST is about to prove it all as they are throwing it back to those Chicago vibes in the 80s by intertwining both hip-hop and house music for their highly impressive ‘Our House’ EP. All while adding in a modern bass-heavy sound.

Earning respect from listeners around the world by creating raw music that focuses less on commercialization and more on the motto to just let loose and enjoy the vibe as a community, 401 WST are making us feel ‘Alive’ with their first single. Launching off with Dom Vallie’s hard-hitting vocals alongside a luring bassline which only gets stronger over time, these producers heat up the temperature a notch as a tech-house backdrop infused with dark synths to initiate a solid groove on the dance-floor. Just when you thought that was the climax, 401 WST slow the tempo down a notch as Vallie’s goes off on his rap vocals to bring out that hip-hop vibe to the single.

4KORNERS is a Toronto legend and world renowned DJ. From performing at the Olympics to Paris Fashion Week, Cannes Film Festival, and the NBA All-star game, he’s done it all. Most well known for his tenure as the official DJ for the Toronto Raptors, we felt it was fitting to catch up with him on his home court. In the video clips below we speak to 4KORNERS about how he got his start with The Raptors, why he keeps coming back, and his relationship with the team’s players. In addition to his DJ duties, 4KORNERS has been making music on the low for a minute. He gives us some insight into the process as well as how he moved into rapping on his new single ‘Told Me Shake It.’ We’ve also got some outtakes from the interview and a fresh Do You FUXWITHIT? feature that includes everything from the Blue Jays, to cotton candy and Drake. Toronto’s 4KORNERS Is Back With A Big Original

If you’re from Toronto chances are you’re familiar with 4KORNERS. The T.O. native has been a facet in the city’s DJ scene for longer than I can remember; from clubs, to special events, to radio mixes and most notably his decade plus tenure as the official DJ for the Toronto Raptors. For those outside of the 6ix you may remember him from the smash ‘Work’ with twerk legends TWRK. If that’s still not ringing a bell it’s time to get familiar. As 4KORNERS gears up for a new EP he just let off the first single ‘Told Me Shake It’. The track blends a high energy trap feel with hip-hop elements. It sees the producer/DJ jumping on the mic for some party-ready bars as he breaks it down. Today’s throwback is one of the most hype TWRK (eSenTRIK and Benzi) tracks I’ve heard from the duo. Featuring a little help from 4Korners, ‘Work’ is the ultimate twerk jam. This tracks comes complete with vocals that are definitely NSFW, a familiar melody flipped on its head and drums that are reminiscent of Busta’s ‘Touch It‘ hit. TWRK and 4Korners delivered a banger with this one and continue to do so independently – here’s to hoping they drop another one together!
