Particularly evident in tunes like ‘tundra’ and ‘goodbye,’ the project reveals alluring, melodic elements tastefully woven into the quintessential samsin flow driven by engrossing 808s. Others such as ’12;59′ and ‘monday’ lean into the wavy, shimmery side of samsin’s style, while ‘goodmorning (interlude)’ takes the cake as the grooviest jazzy bump of the group. Expressive of ethereal reverberations and indistinguishable heat, this collection of tracks wonderfully highlights the growth in samsin’s musical journey. While we continue to enjoy the imaginative Afterlight, we can’t help but wonder what’s next in store for the young groove master.
