anti. is one of the most underrated producers in trap right now and ‘FLEX’ serves as another reminder he’s next up. The track perfectly balances OG trap tendencies with a heavier bass vibe for a certified banger. ‘SAFEWITHME’ jumped out among the first section with the track proving to be one of Farrah most impressive releases to date. The bounce is immaculate, mixing booming low end with futuristic and mean club energy.

Anytime HUCCI drops it’s a treat and ‘Low Charge 6000’ is no exception. When it comes to making moody trap beats, there’s still no one better.

If you’re looking for some DnB the tape also has you covered. Jon1st’s ‘Step Up’ takes iconic rap vocals and creates a menacing off-kilter bruiser. Drawing on a similar dark energy, Rohaan unveils the monster that is ‘Sabertooth.’ This one takes you down dark alleys and into questionable dank basements for a raw rave aesthetic.

FUXWITHIT favourites Losco & golden child team up for the trap banger you’d expect from the two. The track finds that perfect balance between cartooney fun and brutish street sound. Another FUXWITHIT mainstay So Sus amazes with ‘Whale Song’ a track that draws from nature to create an epic sonic journey.

Anytime I explore a compilation I am hoping to find at least one or two new artists that truly wow me. So Durand and WERK checked that box with two of the most impressive offerings on the project. So Durand’s ‘Do2me (feat. Sacha Foster)’ is nothing short of an anthem. The emotive and catchy vocals lock listeners in while drops absolutely bang. Meanwhile, on ‘GEDDIT’ WERK bring a TNGHT-inspired sound that is nothing short of masterful. Warning: you may want to sell your soul to the devil just to ‘GEDDIT.’

Suffice to say, the artists are giving the audience what they wanted: Hard-hitting and memorable electronic music. Known for both of their versatile production techniques,  these two have stood out to many listeners and artists for a while now. CODE ZERO is well known for his WIRETAPS EP that incorporates top-level production and anti. is loved for his infamous Neo-Trap signature flavor taking effect in many of his releases. There are seriously endless amounts of power these two hold. This is why their collaborative EP comes together organically and naturally highlights their impeccable bond.

The VERSUS EP is a very smart and unpredictable experience. Using the idea of an all-out fight night vibe to bring out the best in both of their styles was genius and inspiring. This work of art is split up into three rounds, but it ultimately ends in a special portion where they both come together as a dream team. The battle gives each other the space and room to showcase their talents to the audience. From spine-tingling sound design to crisp drum work, they brought the heat and made both of their audiences proud.

Then once you come to their actual collaboration, you’ll learn why these two make a dangerous duo, maybe even better together than they are apart. And it’s easy to tell it’s a complete fifty-fifty effort. It’s an EP you’ll keep coming back to and regain that same excitement from beginning to end.

I imagine it’s super difficult to bring TWENTY-THREE artists together to finish a track. They got Dabow, capshun, So Sus, and episcool, to name a few. Even label heads Gurf and Runnit make an appearance. Just run through the list yourself and see the undeniable talent. Dabow himself shares on Twitter, “partica got us all together to create the biggest collab I’ve been part of. and it bangs super hard. friday.” Partica really did that. And the, “it’s Patricia,” vocal sample towards the end was really playful and fun.

Onto my personal critique—and let’s preface this by me admitting that collaborations rarely do it for me, but I tried to keep my own bias aside and listen to ‘FRANKENSTEIN’ for what it is—and it’s a good track. However, while there are some great trap builds, for a song marketed as ‘trap 2’, its drops and most memorable moments are on the dubstep and experimental bass realm. The song that has some of the best trap producers right now, so that part was a bit disappointing for me. Additionally, for a Halloween track, the spooky factor could have been turned up a notch. The intro was haunting, but once it hit the 30-second mark, I forgot it was a Halloween track until the “Frankenstein” sample came in.

I also get that the real Frankenstein is having so many different producers bring a different part in to create a mammoth of a track, though. And overall, it’s cohesive and a great tune. First up, we have a special reimagined version of ‘Ego Death’ by Juelz and RemK. With the original having a deep house flavor, these heavy hitters decided to flip it into something much more. Their trap influences come out very strong with every note being played. From hard hitting drums, to a trippy acid lead over the top, this remix honors the original fully to the core. Every second is a breath of fresh air and brings their musical bond together even more. As a result, they’ve created the best flip of ‘Ego Death’ by far thanks to the rhythm alone.

Next, Juelz and Heimanu race through the dawn of time with their remix of Baauer’s song, ‘Aether.’ Being released on his recent album, ‘Aether’ was one of the tracks which stood out the most on the project. And with Heimanu having such a futuristic style of production, it was a perfect match for these two to flip this masterpiece. Taking off with no hesitation, they completely take the original into their own hands by adding monumental sounding drums, atmosphere and overall arrangement. They take us farther into the unknown with every section within this remix. Adding unimaginable elements while still preserving the priceless vision which Baauer created in the original.

Right after, Juelz slows it down by remixing the Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti track, ‘No Stylist.’ What makes this one truly special, is the diversity within. From a gorgeous hip-hop section to honor the vocal, to a spacious and lush chorus, there’s no telling what might come next. The way he used a distorted vocal as a lead was a genius route to take. He truly kept the beautiful qualities from the original and made it into his own. Resulting in a dreamy lullaby for hip-hop and electronic music lovers.

Finally, Juelz and anti. close this mixtape off with an energetic and powerful remix of Flo Mili’s, ‘In The Party.’ You’re going to want to brace yourselves for this one. Starting off with a heavy and nasty introduction, they honor Flo Mili’s attitude in her vocals using a thick 808 and light drums. Bringing it all together, a buildup forms, clearly hearing a classic anti. vibe in there. Telling us they’re both about to make an impact. And once that chorus drops, it will blow you away. anti. incorporating his signature gritty bass and sound design makes this extra spicy. Making each section flow so smoothly in an orderly fashion. All together this one is a certified banger. They really went all out on this one.

I really wanna take the listeners out of their comfort zone and into my world, the MadWorld with this one. This whole next year you’re going to see an entirely new era come into play and this is a teaser of what’s to come.

How’s 2020 been treating you? What’s been keeping you sane or motivated through this year?

2020 has had its ups and downs like for most people I’m sure. It’s been nice to have the time to really work on music and cultivate a group of solid IDs and projects to work on but on the flip side it sucks not being able to mob to shows and party with your friends + meet new friends. The underground and its amazing community is really what’s kept me going, just seeing how far people can take it and all the incredible new music being released by the day by brand new artists or seasoned vets and everyone in between.

You’ve defined your sound as neo-trap. For those unfamiliar, what exactly is neo-trap?

Neo-Trap is the sound of the future. It’s the art of taking simplistic electronic elements and combining them with the hard hitting sounds of trap, creating a new sound reminiscent of the past that gave way to it but also bringing a new unique twist on it. Neo-Trap is the sound that describes the feeling in your heart when your adrenaline spikes and you feel invincible, kinda like the climax in an action movie.

Do you think you’re still slept on?

Yes, but no. I have been very fortunate for all of the genuine friends I’ve made and opportunities I’ve been given throughout my career but my eyes are always looking up at the next big thing so sometimes it’s hard to take in the accomplishments without comparing or dismissing. In any case, if I AM slept on, it won’t be for long ;)

How did you link with skintrest? How important has his visual contribution been to your brand and overall artistic vision?

SKINTREST!! Okay so Skintrest and I linked online about 4-5 years ago now, I was given his name as a recommendation from a friend who said he was a great artist, and wow that was the biggest understatement I’d ever heard. The second I hit him up and gave him my design idea he went to work and created something completely unique and original that totally fit my vision. After that I knew I’d found my guy, from then on he had done random artworks and covers, logos and whatnot but it wasn’t until the Throwdown EP that he really proved how much of a master he was. I gave him like one basic idea and he just took it right from my head and put it down and it worked perfectly. Now it’s to the point all I gotta do is send him the track I need art for and he’ll make something crazy from nothing that perfectly fit the vibe and feel of the track. Skintrest has been monumental to my entire aesthetic and I’m honestly so thankful for such a good friend and talented artist.

You tweeted, “wouldn’t be who Iiam or where i am without this legend i’m super thankful for your kindness and guidance” in reference to UZ. Can you talk a little bit about your relationship and what impact he’s had on your career?

Oh man where to start, well since I first started listening to trap I listened to UZ and fell in love with his simplistic yet impactful beats and quickly grew to love his whole catalog of music. Then back in 2014 when I started mixing it was UZ’s songs I used to learn how to count beats and transition. Once he announced his label ‘Quality Goods Records’ I knew I wanted to be on it but never knew how to make it happen. It wasn’t until late 2019 when he first messaged me about an ID that he wanted to play, and after that I asked if I could submit it for QGR, that song ended up being ‘gate’ and the rest is history. Without him I don’t think my style would be nearly as catchy or impactful I learned a lot about producing just by listening to his tracks.

I hope everyone can take the time to thank those who have helped them and supported them throughout because they deserve it.

Gratitude seems to be a central theme on your social media with you thanking mentors, friends, etc. Have you always been a grateful person? Why do you feel it’s important to actively express it outwardly?

In all honesty, no I wasn’t always grateful. I wasn’t ungrateful, but back in the day there were many things I took for granted and it wasn’t until I started music and really understood the struggle it takes that I opened my eyes to how lucky I really was, whether it was for the friends that took the time to reach out and open me up to a new community or just having supportive parents that didn’t shun or dismiss my passion, things that some people aren’t fortunate enough to have. I hope everyone can take the time to thank those who have helped them and supported them throughout because they deserve it.

It’s no secret that you’re a wrestling fan. How did you get into it? What’s kept you interested over the years?

When I was a kid I was introduced to wrestling around 2006 and I immediately loved it for the athleticism and the performances. As I got older I really started to appreciate the showmanship of the whole thing and how much went into that side of it (not even counting the physical aspect). For what it’s worth, pro wrestling has some of the greatest crowds of all time and I really wanna try and bring that energy to my shows and performances going forward.

What makes you happy outside of music?

Outside of music I love playing games online with my friends, usually you can find me on Apex with Sephla & Javi (my best friend and manager respectively), watching/reading anything horror and watching documentaries.

What should we expect from you in 2021?

I predict 2021 will be the biggest year for me yet, with all the stuff I have in store and ideas that are being put into action it’s going to be a wild ride and I’m taking everyone with me. Be prepared for some brand new music as well as many other new surprising ventures. But the biggest thing you should expect in 2021, are shows. I plan to not only participate but throw many of my own virtual online shows considering we could be looking at another year without live events, I’m really going to try and put out a new kind of performance unlike any other. It just so happens that I don’t even have enough hands to count the amount names on this remix pack that has been featured on FUX, but one definite highlight track is the COFFIN remix of ‘Wonksta’. COFFIN’s perfectly mixed hip-hop drums flow over the suspenseful intro of the track before becoming the driving force in the drop, while also filling spaces with these deep wubs felt deep inside your sternum. 

Another highlight track comes from yet another FUX favorite, SuperAve. The track begins with this deep growl which seems to grow in the shadows as the drums slowly climb through the mix in the build. One second into the drop, and you quickly realize that SuperAve. is not messing around, as some of the nastiest lead basses led the way throughout the drop, along with some pounding percussion elements. 

Once again, another FUX favorite delivers one of the highlights of the remix pack, with anti.’s remix of ‘Static.’ Right out the gate anti. comes throwing elbows with his classic thumping hip-hop drums and piercing hi-hats that jump out the mix. After a quick build, anti. comes through with this hypnotic lead synth that makes you feel like you’re falling endlessly down the rabbit hole.

Last but most definitely not least is yojas and We Rose’s remix of ‘Fearful’. From the start, it feels as if something ominous and aggressive is lurking with these dark industrial alarm sounding synths building the suspense perfectly in the intro. After a quick introduction to the drums in the build, we’re thrown into the madness that is the drop. Two seconds in and I guarantee your face is stank, and your arms are trapped out, as the lead synth is perfectly layered to give that grimy feel while also not losing those smacking drums. 

This whole project gives us fresh and exciting takes on tracks that were already bangers. This one is definitely worth the listen, check out the whole thing below.

The intro of ‘gate’ prepares you for the ensemble of disorder that lies ahead. “You are in danger” is the preceding vocal sample that warns listeners to make sure their seat belts are on properly. With the drop comes an eloquent trap array of originality while also pushing the boundaries of what is and is not accepted among the realm of trap. It’s as if there were a gargantuas, hyper-technology developed droid equipped with artificial intelligence. This droid has finally realized the turmoil its creator has put it through and is fighting back, as you can hear it screaming at its developer in the first drop. anti. does a great job of weaving through textures of bass while still permeating a vigorous trap structure. The second drop comes back with a vengeance and is even more ruthless. Containing “round two” pre-drop vocals, it informs listeners to not yet exit the ride and remain strapped in. Listening to the second half is like watching trap and dubstep duke it out for their spot in the tune. anti. does a mind-boggling operation at infusing mind-melding bass in with authentic trap samples, such as the cough heard throughout, making ‘gate’ a forward-thinking package of excellence.
