Athletixx Drop Debut Single ‘PNTHR’

Back in 2014, Promnite, Hoodboi, Falcons and Kittens linked up to form a supergroup group known as Athletixx. Although the All-Stars Mixtape built some serious hype, they’ve remained relatively quiet on the group front (they’ve been killing it on the solo tip). The lack of material has left fans salivating to hear some original tunes from the group. Finally the wait is over as they unleash ‘PNTHR’. The track is a vicious club anthem made up of drunken and hypnotizing synths, ferocious kicks and some crazy wildlife samples. It’s a hard-hitting bonanza of sounds that bridges the gap between the Amazon and LA’s underground. Stream the track below and grab that free download.

Gladiator & Kittens New Collab Is Far More Than ‘Cute’

We’ve been rocking with Gladiator since they were blowing on that endo on ‘Gamecube Nintendo’. Over the past few years they’ve continued to evolve and their latest release ‘Cute’ is the pinnacle of that evolution. Connecting with Athletixx crew’s Kittens, they bring us a track that couldn’t be further from the title. Those expecting poppy vocals and sunshine synths will be gravely disappointed. Instead they craft a brooding club anthem that features everything from pitched down vocals and low end kicks, to swords crashing, dub-inspired bass lines and a maddening melody. Falcons is at his best on new Terra EP

Falcons’ new EP Terra is a must for hip-hop and bass heads alike. A block beating blend of snapping 808’s, deep knock and killer features. Every tune offers a new level of heat with the lead single ‘Aquafina’ setting the tone from the outset. With features from Goldlink and Chaz French and a hazy G’d out vibe, it’s an instant favourite that’s sure to have you rapping along. ‘Flame’ is a fitting title for the jumpin’ low end smash that combines ragga vocals with some serious bounce. The energy is irrefutable and will have you dancing regardless of where you bump it. The title track takes a darker, beating down the block vibe with chopped and screwed vocals. An ominous melody gives the track a deeper dimension of grittiness. The project closes with the futuristic club banger ‘Boss Mackin’ featuring A-1. Promnite – Going Steady Vol. 1

LA based producer and Athletixx member Promnite has just released a free “14 track collection of ideas, loops & rarities”. The project is entitled Going Steady Vol. 1 and it contains the instrumentals of his ‘Threatz’ and ‘Used to Be (Unity)’ reworks, his ‘Happy Birthday Paper Diamond’ track and a bunch of other previously unreleased material. Going Steady Vol. 1 isn’t available for stream, but you can check out a few tracks below and grab the free download here.

Jeremih – Don’t Tell Em (Falcons x Promnite Remix)

Athletixx members Promnite and Falcons have taken on Jeremih’s Snap! inspired hit song ‘Don’t Tell’ em’. Turning it up, the rework sees serious energy injected into it, along with fun samples (airhorn anyone?) and bouncy drums.
