Avant Gardner’s The Brooklyn Mirage is in the very heart of the complex and offers stunning views of the city skyline and not to forget a rooftop view of the fireworks from all angles during the Monday evening show. Hosting Dom Dolla for an extended set with special guest Lee Foss on July 1st and ATLiens accompanying NGHTMRE for his ‘INTO THE DRMVRSE’ tour with Yookie, Kill The Noise, and more, The Brooklyn Mirage was on fire throughout the weekend in the most iconic way possible.

Inviting the house legend Dom Dolla for an extended set on July 1st with support from Lee Foss and more, the vibes were immaculate from start to finish. Not to mention Dom Dolla completely sold out the venue for his debut show. Rinsing out his world-famous tunes including ‘Pump The Breaks,’ and ‘San Frandisco,’ if there was one artist who kept the crowd moving constantly, it was Dom Dolla. As the fire erupted on stage and Dom Dolla was vibing out with the entire crowd as well as long-time friends who attended the show in support, the energy could not be contained. With the house music connoisseur playing a three-hour set, the night was truly unforgettable for all who attended. Clearly satisfying his strong fan base at the venue, Dom Dolla proved he is the one we trust to keep us dancing and we did not want it to end. Recognized as his biggest show on the East Coast, Dom Dolla is only getting warmed up as he continues to expand his horizons and take over the house music scene one enticing beat at a time.

Making the ground shake is easy when the masked duo known as the ATLiens hit the stage. Appearing at The Brooklyn Mirage on Monday, July 4th to celebrate and end of the long weekend, ATLiens never fail to impress us with their vision of releasing energy so fierce it leaves all those bass lovers in awe of more. Radiating a unique style of experimental bass, trap, and dubstep, ATLiens kept the crowd on their feet as they pushed all limits to go deep into bass throughout the show. Feeling as if we were traveling in another dimension, from low-tempo bass madness and futuristic synths, the amount of ATLiens fans in the crowd rocking their favorite merchandise did not go unnoticed. As the lights began to dim and everyone was laser-focused on the power-duo, the mysterious producers began to take it a notch lower with a filthy backdrop of stabbing drum patterns and rattling frequencies blasting the speakers perfectly with the top-notch visual production at The Brooklyn Mirage. Catching up with the ATLiens before their epic performance, we had the pleasure of connecting with them for our Do You FUXWITHIT.

The aliens of Atlanta seem to be unstoppable at the current moment. After a massive 2019 with the release of their Ghost Planet EP, an impressive tour, and a run on the North American festival circuit with stops at Escape, EDC Orlando, and Lost Lands, the extraterrestrial duo is already off to a wild start to 2020. So far we’ve gotten their face-melting single ‘Meltdown’ and their epic collaboration with BTSM, ‘Frequencies.’ It looks like there is no end in sight with ATLiens latest mind-bending transmission, ‘Brainwashed.’

Right out the gate, we’re introduced to absolutely petrifying white-noise like a transmission with a quick overview of brainwashing. Immediately following this we’re met with a violent pulsating sub, which is then quickly interrupted by another transmission before returning in the company of risers, terrifyingly building suspense. Soon after, we’re thrown into the mind of the aliens, filled with a screeching melody combined with pounding percussion elements. Come to find out, these drops continue to build on themselves and don’t unleash their full power until the last section, where the elements of a filthy trap banger make themselves known. Make sure to check it out below!

This time the extraterrestrials team up with fellow sound pushers, Black Tiger Sex Machine, who have also started off the year with a bang with their collaboration with Blanke ‘Time Travel’. This time we get ‘Frequencies’ in which the two groups combine their array of innovative sound designs to give us one to remember.

We begin with a spacey synth looped playing the melody, which is soon joined by a ghostly choir and menacing subs to build tension. Soon after we are introduced to the “Frequency Oscillator” in the first drop which truly launches the listener into orbit. After a quick build-up, we’re thrown back into the frequency oscillator but this time with a bit more emphasis on percussion, giving the track an energizing rhythm. Make sure to check this one out down below!

Straight out of Atlanta, the masked duo ATLiens are coming off their best year to date. Their prodigious Ghost Planets EP was filled with instant bass-heavy festival anthems full of experimental sounds with trap influence. Following this, the pair dropped a 28 song remix pack packed with an array of A-listers like Bro Safari and YDG. We’ve come to love the sounds they push and their festival sets are rivaled by few. The young extraterrestrials start the decade off with their violent single ‘Meltdown’

From the start, the duo takes us straight to the core of the reactor with their ominous vocal loop reading an error code, all the while building suspense with mean synths and tribal drums. Around forty-five seconds in we reach full meltdown status, with a piercing hi-pitched lead synth dancing around a barrage of stabbing percussion hits. As we approach the drop, we’re met with a pitched down pulsating lead synth which finishes this track off with outstanding switch up. Go stream this one below, and be on the lookout for what comes next!

As the year comes to a close, it’s more than clear that the trap renaissance is on the horizon. Binks and Pryzms are two of the trendsetting producers who are leading the charge. Residing on opposite coasts, the two young trap lords have been blazing their path. Pryzms, an Atlanta Native, is a versatile artist who isn’t afraid to venture outside dance music with production work for OJ Da Juiceman. On the other side, we have LA native Binks whose innovative production recently landed him an official remix for ATLiens’s ‘Shelter’ with the legend Bro Safari. The two merge their talents on their new track ‘Trip’.

Starting with an ominous loop of skillfully designed ambient melodies, the track immediately gives you that classic trap feel. Thirty seconds in, the speaker-rattling 808s take center stage as they encompass the low ends with a pleasing counter-melody. This theme continues throughout the remainder of the track until an additional spazzy flute melody enters the mix. By combining the essential elements of hip-hop and bass music, these two have created a new-wave trap banger. Check this one out below!

The ATLiens are among the best at having a keen acuity for what’s hot in the underground – just take a listen to their Lost Lands set and you’ll quickly understand. Their Ghost Planet EP dating back to July perfectly embodied how the trap scene has evolved over the years, while also hinting at what the future holds. Continuing along this theme, the masked duo have enlisted what can simply be described as the A-list of up-and-comers in the underground bass scene to remix the Ghost Planet EP, and fans are in for a real treat.

A versatile, eleven-track endeavour, Ghost Planet Remixes (Part 1) is bound to please a wide array of electronic music lovers. Dubstep fans can rejoice at the contributions from OG Nixin and Al Ross, while heavy house and electro fans can go crazy to Jacknife and Lektrique’s remixes. Sandwiched in between these two genres is an eclectic mix of gnarly bass from Leotrix, Moore Kismet, Bro Safari and BINKS, experimental weirdness from Bishu and Code:Pandorum, and wonky freeform from Space Wizard and FrostTop.

Don’t get us wrong; not all the remixers are new names to the scene. Despite this, they all take a forward-thinking approach with their respective takes on the tracks and bring a new life to their classic sounds.

Nostalgic vocal subtleties abound the expedition, weaving brief hints of familiarity within the desolate experimental soundscapes of ‘Shelter’ and ‘Tantra’ as muffled barrages of bass and low-frequency subs throng your peripheral senses.

The odyssey delves further into the radical abyss with ‘Fuck That,’ reaching a juncture of atmospheric turbulence and off-kilter wobbles that protracts into a full-fledged audible incursion as ‘Exterminate’ with Hairitage disperses a lethal culmination of energy to the project, before ‘Closer’ delivers a final vibrant salutation to the distant foreign domain.

Further titillating the release of their sophomore Ghost Planet EP, ‘Shelter’ poses both an imminent audible danger and a remarkable synthesis of styles. An inimitable cadent chanting grows strenuously into clarity, sending a piercing sting of nostalgia coursing through your hippocampus. A decisive plunge of bass triggers a series of foreboding emergency broadcast instructions, which cunningly mantle a teeming intensity in percussion, before unleashing a percipient descent of vacillating textured synths laid over protracted torrents of bass.

Find ‘Shelter’ immediately below and keep a keen eye for the entire Ghost Planet EP out July 24th via Bassrush Records.

Sinistrous puppeteers of production, innominate duo ATLiens have asserted half a decade of influence towards the broader strokes of the trap music scene, with foundational accomplishments such as their debut release ‘Chief’ with THIEVES in 2015, followed shortly thereafter with resonant collaboration ‘Cavern’ alongside Quality Goods Records founder UZ.

Concealed with anonymity, the duo sheds the urgency of public notoriety, marching strictly to the beat of their own drum, ushering tasteful experimental pivots in caliber such as last year’s Invasion EP, embodying a persistent work ethic and insatiable appetite for evolution.

Prelusive of a long-anticipated sophomore project, ‘CLOSER’ with mau5trap newcomer EDDIE foreshadows the next ill-omened chapter for the duo. Soft digital dialogue transfixes your attention briefly before cavernous reverberating subs forged deep within the core of the Earth permeate the foreground, while seismic heaves of bass, intelligently laced snares, and complexity of digital fills provide an unsettling atmospheric tactility to the track.

Find yourself a nice safe space before throwing on the latest single and accompanying visuals from the ATLiens below!
