Beauty Brain crashed onto my radar last year when they joined forces with Bro Safari & UFO! on ‘No Control’. The track was a huge banger but it may pale in comparison to their latest work, The Croak Crew EP. From the outset you know it’s going to be wild listen. The title track kicks off with frog croaks and high energy lazers. As they add in some steel drums and menacing horns it primes listeners for a drop that’s guaranteed to leave your brain blown. ‘Everybody In Da Club’ blends vocal chops with a hypnotic beat that is littered with hard kicks and militant snares. The sound combines for a feel reminiscent to Major Lazer with an underground twist. ‘My Jetpack’ sees them clashing with Master & Disaster for a room vibrating bass epic that’s the audio equivalent of dystopian sci-fi film’s climax. The looped vocals, dark wubbed out bass lines, and smattering of bed squeak deliver a next level punch and serve as a perfect conclusion to flawless 3 track EP. Every time Bro Safari drops a new track you know you’re in for something special. When he hooks up with frequent collaborator UFO! and rising production duo Beauty Brain things get out of control. The new track entitled ‘No Control’ is a massive trap banger, built on what sounds like a distorted banjo. The song contains massive drops, intriguing builds, unusual samples and an amplitude of energy. ‘No Control’ is available for stream and free download below. Making this even better is the fact that Bro Safari and UFO! are currently working on collaborations (4 or 5) with a number of artists which will be released as they are complete.
