Logic ft. Big K.R.I.T. – Top Ten

As the Mortal Kombat inspired artwork suggests both Logic and Big K.R.I.T. have been fighting their way to the top of the rap game, trying to move into the ‘Top Ten’. Considering both have finally arrived, it seems only fitting for them to jump on a track together. With 6ix on the boards the two rappers prove why they truly are ‘Top Ten’. The production is laid back and the perfect sound for cruising in the whip. K.R.I.T.’s verse instantly impresses as he likens his work on wax to bagging up dope, “Just to make ’em peep what I’m cookin’, I love Mississippi, I put a studio in my partner kitchen, so by the way I’m whippin you would think I’m druggin these hoes, cuttin’ crack and make ’em double back like excuse me nigga, I need a stove, nah, I ain’t selling dope, but this a metaphor for my flow.”

Logic book ends the track with strong verses reflecting on his current situation while dropping punchlines, “They probably expecting that shit from the first album, man fuck that, they’ll say that I changed, and I’ll say I had to show ’em my range, cause if I do what I did then they’ll say it’s the same, just can’t win in this game, money talks, that’s a figure of speech, that went over their head, like the dough that I throw in the air like I’m Papa John.” Stream below.

Big K.R.I.T. just dropped his sophomore effort ‘Cadillactica‘ on Monday and we thought it would be fitting to look back at his ‘Country Shit’ Remix with Ludacris and UGK boss Bun B. As you can imagine, the track is all things southern with Luda and Bun adding verses about their hometowns. The accompanying visual shows you all the candy painted whips, food joints and country folk you need to see to feel the vibe. K.R.I.T. dropped this back in 2011 and it acted as a lead single for his mixtape ‘Krit Wuz Here’. I will warn you now, after watching this video you may very well find yourself in need of some southern comfort. Ha! Peep below.

Fuck your grill! With Big K.R.I.T.’s album sitting pretty and ready to drop November 11th, he dropped the title track from the album today for the fans. Big K.R.I.T. is no stranger in the rap game – in the past 2 years he has really evolved as an artist and you can hear it come through on the track. You can expect that Southern drawl, and machine gun fire flow and a very catchy hook. Soon everybody is going to be yelling “Cadillac, lac, lac, lac”! Get the album next month and while you wait you can bump his previous leaks and this.
