The night started off with local DJ Bill Slinnton dropping a mainly trap-centric set, which got the oncoming turn-up started. As we were flailing about, he himself was going off behind the decks like a true trap lord would; he would dance in-between song transitions, getting fully engaged with the crowd and adding to the insurmountable enrgy already being unleashed.

Around midnight, Joker stepped up to the stage, ecstatic for the hour-long performance he was about to put on for us. Once his set began, we knew that we were in for part one of an epic two-part banger bonanza, with Stööki being the latter half. Around the halfway point of his set, when he dropped his track ‘Tron‘, things seemed to take a much heftier turn from then on.

I caught DJ Lukey chillin’ at the back of the room during Joker’s set. I went to go chat him up, and he told me about how they were more than halfway through the tour, and they’re really happy with how things have been so far. He also mentioned how he’s really looking forward to Sónar in Barcelona this summer, as well as Oregon’s What The Festival. (Adding to the glee, they’ve got some new tracks they hope to release sometime soon!)

Joker wrapped up his set not too soon after, and Stööki took over. Lukey stationed himself behind the decks, as Jelacee, rocking a sweet pair of solid rose shades, grabbed the mic and opened with the tracks ‘Hear That‘ and ‘My Gs‘, both in which he is a featured artist.

Amidst getting lost in the hype, the sound cut out abruptly at one point. Jelacee jumped on the mic, and played it off with some serious bars a la acapella. He tried to multitask that with entering his password on his computer – he failed both the first time around, but laughed it off with the crowd.

Once back in business, some classic tracks that haven’t been heard in a while popped up – first was TNGHT’s ‘Higher Ground‘, which undoubtedly began a mosh pit as we threw down to the madness. The second was closer to the end when things started taking a sexy turn, as Stööki lay down Junior Senior’s ‘Move Your Feet‘, which caused everybody to break it down the best way we each knew possible.

Once they wrapped up their set, and thus the evening, we thanked them each as they were saying their goodbyes to fans in the crowd, and wished them well towards their next stop, in Minneapolis the following evening.
