There are few names in bass music that can confidently say they have leveled up with each consecutive release, but I think it’s safe to put Blvk Sheep on that shortlist. Over the past four years, we’ve been met with one banger after another from Blvk Sheep, and it all recently culminated with his debut EP Dark Matter. This time the seasoned producer returns with a collection of remixes stacked full of some of FUX favorites.

It just so happens that I don’t even have enough hands to count the amount names on this remix pack that has been featured on FUX, but one definite highlight track is the COFFIN remix of ‘Wonksta’. COFFIN’s perfectly mixed hip-hop drums flow over the suspenseful intro of the track before becoming the driving force in the drop, while also filling spaces with these deep wubs felt deep inside your sternum.

Another highlight track comes from yet another FUX favorite, SuperAve. The track begins with this deep growl which seems to grow in the shadows as the drums slowly climb through the mix in the build. One second into the drop, and you quickly realize that SuperAve. is not messing around, as some of the nastiest lead basses led the way throughout the drop, along with some pounding percussion elements.

Once again, another FUX favorite delivers one of the highlights of the remix pack, with anti.’s remix of ‘Static.’ Right out the gate anti. comes throwing elbows with his classic thumping hip-hop drums and piercing hi-hats that jump out the mix. After a quick build, anti. comes through with this hypnotic lead synth that makes you feel like you’re falling endlessly down the rabbit hole.

Last but most definitely not least is yojas and We Rose’s remix of ‘Fearful’. From the start, it feels as if something ominous and aggressive is lurking with these dark industrial alarm sounding synths building the suspense perfectly in the intro. After a quick introduction to the drums in the build, we’re thrown into the madness that is the drop. Two seconds in and I guarantee your face is stank, and your arms are trapped out, as the lead synth is perfectly layered to give that grimy feel while also not losing those smacking drums.

This whole project gives us fresh and exciting takes on tracks that were already bangers. This one is definitely worth the listen, check out the whole thing below.

New York’s Blvk Sheep has been a forward-thinking connoisseur of hard-hitting trap beats for years now, but recently has gained major attention from some of the biggest names in the industry. Staying true to his name, his aim is to readily stand out from the crowd and craft something that’s familiar, yet also quite different. Continuing to ride this wave of momentum, he’s put together his second EP ever in the form of Dark Matter, a deadly 4-track affair that is sure to blow your eyebrows off on any worthy sound system. Today, we’ve had the great pleasure of premiering ‘Static’, a beastly collaboration with the quickly rising dubstep aficionado Nvadrz, right here on FUXWITHIT.

The introduction of ‘Static’ includes a ticking noise that sounds like a stern warning that your time is swiftly running out. A deep, wild vocal sample starts to loop as the drums come in, bringing about an otherworldly chaotic energy that imbues one with the power to go as hard as physically possible. Creating a nimbus of noise, the first drop launches you up into the air and brings you right back down to a face-plant. The second drop is a demon straight out of hell, outfitted with deep guttural growls like the bass is egging you on to the brink of insanity. Thankfully, the only thing that’s truly insane is how gnarly the sound design is in this piece, a nod to the immense collective talents of these two artists. Make sure to rinse ‘Static’ for yourself below, and if you thought this was heat, make sure to check out the rest of Blvk Sheep’s Dark Matter EP when it drops!

‘Break’ is Blvk Sheep at his finest. The introduction is eerie yet intriguing, keeping listeners hooked before ominous alarms hint at the massacre that follows.

Winning NGHTMRE & Boombox Cartel‘s ‘Aftershock‘ remix contest in 2015 was only the beginning of a breakaway career for New York-born producer, Richie Buckley; affectionately known to his fans as Blvk Sheep. With releases on premiere labels such as Quality Goods Records, Fools Gold and Lowly Palace, Blvk Sheep is the furthest thing from a stranger to the heavy trap scene.

His most recent single titled ‘Horizon‘ is a flawless interpretation of a timeless track. “Wrote this song late 2016 after a huge round of tour dates & have been playing it out ever since. Today I finally get to release it,” Buckley discloses with fans. Despite the tune being crafted deep within Blvk Sheep’s dungeon studio nearly 2 years ago, it packs a punch and could easily hold its own against any current releases.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/479295684″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

The song opens with a drowned out, uplifting melody, which materializes clearly amid a faint chant of hopeful voices. As the energy of the song begins to build, faint noise begins to grow from the background before completely overwhelming the synths before the drop. A brief pause, with an ominous hanging note, catapults into an assault of robust horns and gritty synths. A quick change of pace reintroduces the angelic chanting, accompanied by light percussion and a wandering patterns of horns growing steadily in volume. The second drop provides a brilliant euphoric contrast to the grimy first, composed of a captivating shower of synths, nestled gently between the booming horns before the melody returns once more to lull the song to a close.

A delicate trap foundation, woven with a meticulous pattern of synths, ‘Horizon‘ is yet another example of Blvk Sheep‘s ingenious production capability and vision for blending the line between trap and future bass with his uncanny style. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Richie, but have a feeling this is going to be his biggest year yet.

None other than bass producer and DJ extraordinaire UZ has curated the platform, and he has been carefully selecting some of the biggest and baddest beats to present to the world.

The newest release to land through Quality Goods is a various artist LP, containing ten tracks – some collaborations, some solo material. Titled QGRC-002, this is a seriously strong body of work. Opening with Masayoshi limori’s quietly atmospheric ‘Hello,’ Dimebag & Pasdat present ‘Ride Out’ next, a rippling tune that precedes Jhin’s explosive ‘Hidden.’ The work on Blvk Sheep’s ‘Mania’ is out of this world, as is Atik’s hypnotizing ‘Ghostride,’ before things take a vocal-led direction thanks to Rfen & Nuar’s ‘Nosebleed.’

We spoke last week about the incredible ‘Find You’ from Perk Pietrek, and that one sits neatly before Skepper’s driving ‘Heard It’ and Hydraulix & QUIX’s pumping ‘Jam Dizzle.’ ‘Masticator’ from Revazz & TYNVN is a suitable closer here; leaving you craving that little bit more.

Grab a copy of QGRC-002 here if you’re feeling it.
