Fresh off of the release of a summer groove via Sundae Sauuce, Chris Siegel returns with another warm weather bop. ‘Anybody’ sees the producer once again connecting with lulunah (‘I Can’t) for an emotional yet infectious new single. The backdrop is upbeat, sweet and cheery. It’s dripping with optimism and syrupy sweet melodies. Lulunah’s vocals provide a powerful contrast with heartfelt and moving lyrics. This all adds up to a unique work that’ll have you lost in the feels while dancing around the room.

Chris dives into the dichotomy of ‘Anybody’ stating, “Emotionally, I want to convey a mix of both sadness and happiness. Lyrically, the song is reflecting upon the unfortunate but necessary decision to move on from a relationship. And although it should have been “anybody but you,” the departure is a necessary action for both parties to grow. These actions can obviously be heavy and hard, but the overarching theme here is taking control of your life and happiness. That’s where the instrumental comes in — I wanted to counteract some of the heavy lyrics with some joyfulness and optimism.”

With summer nearing its end, ‘Anybody’ proves to be the perfect anthem for the bittersweet energy in the air.

After working with a number of vocalists, Chris is back on the instrumental vibe that first caught our ear. ‘Week 1’ takes listeners on a bliss-filled journey. Chris Siegel Returns With Upbeat Yet Emotional Single ‘I Can’t’ feat. lulunah

It’s been a few years since Chris Siegel first burst onto our radar. The relatively unknown artist who dropped ‘Jersey’ in early 2016 has been steadily evolving and growing with time. After taking nearly a year off from releases, Chris is back with an emotional anthem entitled ‘I Can’t.’ It fits in perfectly with his previously work blending an upbeat and infectious backdrop with a moving vocal performance from lulunah. The track was originally inspired by the catchy chord pattern and goofy flute of Lil Yachty’s ‘Broccoli.’ After creating the instrumental, Chris knew the song needed more. lulunah’s vocal were the missing piece to make ‘I Can’t’ something truly special. The track was co-written together and Chris provided some additional insight into the emotion behind it.

“Lyrically, the song is about the need to break away from an unhealthy relationship. It could be a friend, romantic partner, business partner, etc.. ‘I Can’t’ references a particular moment in time where a person fully realizes the relationship can’t go on as is.

Although emotions of sadness are present lyrically, the song is ultimately meant to emphasize the concept of self-worth + self-care.”

The combination of emotive vocals and playful production makes for a sound that’s sure to command repeat plays. Stream ‘I Can’t’ below.

Chris Siegel Puts A Sunny Twist On Chance The Rapper’s ‘FUTB’

Milwaukee producer, Chris Siegel, has been a favourite of ours for a minute. Ever since he made waves with ‘Jersey,’ we’ve been keeping a keen ear out for his tunes. Today Chris reconnects with Siren (‘This Is How’) for a rework of Chance The Rapper’s ‘Fuck You Tahm Bout’. Sonically the rework is a complete 180. In place of the chopped vocals come stellar vocals from Siren. Instead of a knocking trap beat, it’s an upbeat paino driven sound. With these tweaks Chris manages to take 10 Day Chance and make it sound like a Coloring Book cut. It’s a magical rework that allows listeners to enjoy both dimensions of Chance’s sound. Chris Siegel & Strehlow Bring You The Summer Early On ‘This Is How’

At the beginning of the year, newcomer Chris Siegel wow’d us with the release of his debut single ‘Jersey’. The track screamed with creativity; pairing a plethora of seemingly random samples to create a work of beauty. We’ve been keenly awaiting his follow-up release and today it has arrived in the form of ‘This Is How’. It’s a collaborative effort with fellow noh life producer Strehlow and vocalists Siren, Lex Allen, and Christine Hoberg. The track is proof that strength comes in numbers. The combination of tropical steel drums, emotive vocals and some groovy synths create an addictive, Summer-filled feel. Making this even more incredible is the accompanying VIP which packs a harder club-ready sound. I personally can’t decide which version I love more. Thankfully they’re both free downloads so there’s no need to choose. Stream below.

Chris Siegel Wows Us with Debut Release ‘Jersey’

When I came upon the debut release from an unkown producer from Milwaukee entitled ‘Jersey,’ I was intrigued but didn’t expect much. To be honest, what I did expect was a pretty generic Jersey club effort, what I received was so much more. Chris Siegel’s debut is a melting pot of sounds and influences that come together to form something that is as unique as it is radiant. From the wordly instrumentation and muted R&B samples, to the dolphin sounds and whistles, ‘Jersey’ is far from generic. The soulful breakdown in the middle cements the fact while a sprinkling of Jersey Club gives it some serious bounce. All this equates to Chris Siegel becoming a producer whom we’ll have a keen eye on moving forward (and you probably should too). Stream below and snag the free download.
