While it would take a novel to do every track justice, we have hand-selected a few favourites from the bunch to highlight today. And before we get into it, we highly implore you to dive into the compilation as a whole to form your own opinion, pick your own favourites, and appreciate the full breadth of talent on display in LM026.

The first standout comes from the ever-talented Chromonicci in ‘Teleporters.’ Doing what he has done so many times in the past, the producer fuses trap and bounce like no other in his latest tune, luring listeners in with a minimal approach that screams less is more. Not too complex but meticulously concocted, ‘Teleporters’ demonstrates Chromonicci’s undeniable talent in manipulating sounds.

The next standout comes from Losco and ONHELL, who teeter on the side of dubstep with their brute titled ‘Carnal.’ The track is ominous and sinister, borrowing elements from trap but carrying a halftime swagger with it that makes it so much darker and heavier. It’s unruly and unusual for a Lucid Monday contribution, but slaps way too hard to omit from the standouts.

Finally, the elusive zotti makes his return in a collaboration with FUXWITHIT favourites L*o*J in a stomping heater named ‘Pullup’ that meshes their styles to a tee. zotti’s vibrant sound makes itself heard throughout, while L*o*J contribute an arm-swinging vibe that makes ‘Pullup’ the type of tune that will make you flip your desk. Simply put, it boasts a confidence and swank that should be illegal.

There are so many more highlights in the compilation which in turn make LM026 a highlight of its own. Dilip, ini, olswel, Dabow, sober rob… the list goes on. Don’t miss it below.

The collaboration is truly everything that you ‘Want’ from LYNY & chromonicci. It’s a masterful melding of their collective styles that results in an early contender for trap banger of the year. A dizzying loop, snappy drums, and that hypnotic vocal instantly will have you locked in. When you can’t take the anticipation any longer a quick splice of silence explodes into a murderous trap drop that takes the genre back to its roots with a little extra oomph. The track’s second act sees it evolving while the vocals carry through. The second drop amplifies the bounce and epicness while the guitar outro adds a layer of depths that makes ‘Want’ nothing short of exceptional.

What’s crazy is I was a huge fan of Christian’s stuff from as early as 2016. Eventually, my buddy Kevin (Cozy Kev) worked with him in 2019-2020 and I think that was when he found my stuff. We connected on socials and he hit me up, and soon after we talked about a collaboration. I sent him an idea and he loved it. Then he went in and absolutely CRUSHED it. – LYNY

Seeing Dabow, L*o*J, & LYNY on a track is enough to get any trap heads heart-pumping. ‘OG’ does not disappoint illustrating why they are 3 of the best out. You can practically taste the Mojitos and smell the saltwater dripping off this one.

Just in time for ‘Springszn’ comes the aptly titled collab from enuar & kas. Light and airy, it’s the audio equivalent of that first summer-like day after a long winter. The synths warm your skin like sun rays. The steel drums wash away any worries and replace your stress with a feeling of elation. Smiles, slow hip-swaying and smashing replay are the only things on the menu for ‘Springszn.’

Kicking off the project comes Acrillics’ ‘What Do You Want.’ It’s no secret we’ve been longtime fans and supporters and it’s always great to see the duo making big moves. Serving as a perfect introduction, it starts as a slow burner with emotive undertones before unveiling a bass-leaning trap nature. Blending feels with aggressive and powerful energy makes this a can’t miss.

Chromonicci has become renowned for his diversity, from future beat finesse to lofi chill tunes and trap slaps, he can do it all. With ‘Singularity’ he finds a perfect fusion of off-kilter future beats and the chest-pounding energy of raw trap. It’s smooth yet, banging. Experimental but approachable and dare I say… smooth. In short, it’s spectacular.

The stash of unreleased heat that Dabow is sitting on right now is absolutely insane. Any time we get one of his highly sought-after IDs for release we relish it. ‘Poder’ has been a staple in Dabow sets and mixes so it’s great to finally get the proper release. From the bent vocal loops, to ice-cold keys and the blistering brass, this is trap music at its best. People really need to stop sleeping on Dabow’s greatness.

Possibly the biggest surprise on the tape is Giraffage’s’ ‘idgaf.’ Based around the vocal “I don’t give a fuck,” this is a blistering banger here to set speakers ablaze. Booming bass, precise vocals chops, and an almost absurd party vibe make it undeniably infectious. It’s the type of banger you could see getting spun out in trap or bass house sets or serving as the perfect bridge between the genres in a setlist. I didn’t know Giraffage went this hard.

Other mid-to-late tape standouts include Great Dane’s ‘aya hua’ which fuses tribal and spiritual energy with some serious bump, LYNY’s bossed-up anthem ‘Stumble,’ and RamonPang’s beastly ‘Santoor Unkown.’

Last but not least I have to highlight Rome In Silver’s ‘Little Demons.’ I’ve been waiting for this one to drop since I included it as an ID in my Electric Hawk Takover Mix in early 2020. Electric basslines, swooning vocals, crisp claps and a forward-thinking soundscape are expertly intertwined. The drops are funky and inviting while remaining mean. It exemplifies the exceptional balance that Rome In Silver has managed to master.

Okay, sorry for the abrupt start, I’m going to take a step back and explain to you what’s happening. It occurs that, behind this brand new Phuture Collective release titled ‘Revival’ are two of the most formidable minds out there at the moment. On one side there is him, his majesty chromonicci, on whom we’ve now spent thousands words here on FUXWITHIT and who I believe doesn’t need further introduction. On the other side we have one of the men of the moment who holds 2021 in his palm: I’m talking about capshun of course, aka Mr. Bonsai aka probably the only human who has ever carried a crossbow to a virtual dj-set.

So what has emerged from the clash of these two stars? A supernova of course.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is one of the most successful collaborations of recent times. The level of fusion and interweaving of the two artists’ styles is just phenomenal. One second you feel like you are listening to a chromonicci’s song, one second later to a track made by caphsun, one second later you have absolutely no idea because everything is so damn well balanced. If you know the two artists, I am willing to bet that you have already created a mental projection of what awaits you but believe me, this time reality overtops fantasy. Another thing I feel compelled to praise is all the experience, in terms of production, that I perceive in this tune. ‘Revival’ is not only praiseworthy in terms of sound selection, mixing and design, but the storytelling is impressive too. Perhaps it’s even the aspect that I admire the most. These four minutes pass in the blink of an eye despite they have taken the luxury of keeping the intro over a minute long. Without even realizing it you’re already at the last bar.

‘sinking @@!’ is a fun and unpredictable series of emotions. From bright wholesome melodies, to nasty drum patterns, this has a little bit of everything you’ve ever wanted within a track such as this. Right at the beginning, we hear a filtered out skeleton of the track. Making the listener become intrigued and enticed by its beauty and attitude. With the buildup rising, you can imagine the gates to a brighter future opening up. Welcoming you to something brand new. Then all of a sudden, it hits you all at once.

The first drop is lighthearted yet heavy. The dream sounding melody playing in the background combined with a well designed 808 completely takes your breath away. A direction you didn’t hear coming. Even the percussion is light to the ear and leaves a smile on your face. Right after, another buildup is introduced, making the audience want more. Leading us to the final drop.

If you thought the first was wild, then prepare yourselves, because they take no prisoners with the last. Immediately you’re taken back by their intense 808 and playful percussion lead. Taking up the spotlight, letting us know they’re not finished. It’s a crazy and unique switch up to the atmosphere, fitting the whole song perfectly. Finally, they take a bow with a lush piano solo. Combined with powerful strings to truly tug at your heart strings, saying farewell for now.

late year is an intricate thinker and this is a powerful debut. Together, him and chromonicci make a wonderful team. We’re excited to hear what late year brings us next in the future. Make sure to go support them by streaming ‘sinking @@!’
