Releasing killer originals as well as working with powerful entities such as Player Dave and Saka. And now, he’s skyrocketing his talents higher than ever with this most recent EP. Diving into different sides of the spectrum while always delivering his special flare.

Light Garden highlights his developed skills and techniques over the years while giving us a taste of the future of his sound. Experimenting with different environments and constantly leaving listeners in complete awe. Heart-wrenching basslines mixed with spacious atmospheres are what you’ll find throughout this project. Not to mention how impactful each piece is. Making you want to come back time and time again to catch that special melody or attribute missed within the first listen. Creating not only a memorable body of work but a timeless one to say the least.

Each track is unique but still holds the vision of the EP entirely. An impressive display of balance and range. He even came together with CloZee for a spectacular finale. Sharing the spotlight with one another and taking a bow to honor this journey and their listeners. A gorgeous way to close off this chapter and make listeners eager to hear what’s next. Chloé Herry is a name surrounded by love and diversity as she has curated a world wide fanbase. The Toulouse, France composer emanates powerful frequencies that can be felt deep in your soul. With an album that generates a strong organic adventure, it is difficult to take on these tracks. However, the melting pot of artists chosen depicts a narrative that adds a further illustration of CloZee’s vision.

Starting things off is an Of The Trees remix for ‘Perfect’ which goes much deeper than just artist selection. “Before she became the monolithic act she is now, I met Chloe back in 2014 or so. She was a quiet timid girl from France who barely spoke any English, but the label we were both working heavily with at the time, and the rest of us, knew she was somebody special – and she was barely beginning what was sure to be a quick rise to the top of the bass music scene,” says Of The Trees. He then went on to say, “I am honored to be releasing this remix for her. It’s a culmination of our friendship and it’s amazing to still be rubbing shoulders with her today, but on a much different level.” I will let those words speak for itself as the honor Of The Trees has felt assembling this remix should be enough to encourage you to listen.

Further into the series we are met with LUZCID’s rendition of ‘Us’ which features The Kite String Tangle. As we saw the deeper connection from Of The Trees remix, there is a similar sentiment shared in this track as well. “I immediately hit the studio and had the remix completed within 24 hours of receiving the stems,” says LUZCID. The excitement these artist express to be a part of this is on display in each of their tracks. It can be compared to movie sequels, as there is usually questioning on if it will live up to the original. LUZCID leaves no room for question as he takes ‘Us’ and provides a sense of ambition with the melodic synths used along with the intricate and elegant bass play.

The final track I want to highlight is the remix to ‘Winter Is Coming’ by Rome In Silver. In the original, listeners can expect vibrant, worldly bass that encapsulates your entire cerebrum. The Orange County based producer Rome In Silver applies a sophisticated groove, causing the track to feel even more powerful. He does an excellent job of matching the energy CloZee provides while finding a way to inspire new meaning. Maybe one day we will witness a collaboration from these two, but for now we will count our blessings with this remix.

Writing up this album has given me a newfound love and respect for CloZee, and hopefully it does the same for you. Each artist chosen helps in conditioning a beautiful listening experience. From beginning to end, there is something here for everyone. Put on your best set of headphones and cancel out the world around you for a bit. If someone told you to bottle hope, valor, and perseverance, could you do it? Clozee has perfectly achieved this with ‘Winter is Coming.’ These intense emotions will be weaving up and down your existence like snakes of electricity, your consciousness a train and your body just along for the ride. From the opening notes you’ll be enraptured by the peaceful ambiance, almost reminiscent of an early summer morning right after a light rain. The air bears the faint scent of rain, and the world is starting to breach its slumber. The birds are chirping lightly and squirrels scamper about playfully. It’s quiet, but if you listen carefully you can hear the world around you bursting forth with life.

This sense of connection to the area orbiting around you is magnified a million-fold by the vibrations put forth by ‘Winter is Coming.’ Putting you into a primal state of trance, you’ll be left reflecting on your life and those that inhabit it, a sense of peace and understanding at the forefront of your mind. From the opening instrumentals that drift off lightly into the distance, you’ll be safely swaddled amidst the healing frequencies. Add in the bass lines of the first drop and your being will be practically bursting with the courage necessary to take on even the mightiest of foes. With the exquisite use of echoing vocal samples from a foreign language, you’ll feel apart of your own self-discovery ceremony, your anxieties, doubts, and worries cast aside for the present moment.

I know the title is ‘Winter is Coming’, but damn this feels like the first true step into summer. Another masterpiece of modern music, Clozee has surely outdone herself once again. Last year, the Cooks Valley Campground played host to the first compliant three-day, overnight and camping festival in the country to allow the recreational use and sale of cannabis on-site outside of the state fairgrounds at the extremely cozy Tree Lounge. Making the most of a permit that’s been years in the making, Northern Nights also incorporated cannabis into its wellness programming with participatory events like Stoned Yoga and CBD Self-Massage.

Taking full advantage of the 6 diverse stage offerings located on the festival grounds, attendees will be able to fully immerse themselves in varying locales and energies. The main stage at Northern Nights was firmly outfitted with top-of-the-line PK Sound speakers that were invigoratingly rich during the headlining sets, and the river stage was perfectly placed close enough to the water that you could easily hear the beats pouring forth from underneath the tent roof.

Her debut at last year’s event turned so many heads, and had people raving about it months after the festival. It’s a dark, mysterous and quirky set, and features some stellar IDs which have now been revealed since, including her widely-sought ‘Relax‘, off her upcoming album Mass Manipulation. Speaking of, the album releases days before this year’s event, and you can guarantee that some, if not most of its tracks will be present in her set.

The Pagoda itself (pictured above) is undergoing a makeover this year as well, which amplifies the likelihood that this set is going to be etched into the history books, as well as the hearts of her devoted cult following.

As the first artist featured in the Shambhala Live video series, London’s drum & bass wizard tore down the Village, going across all fronts of the genre – from the smoothest of liquid d&b, to the heaviest and dirtiest neurofunk, you’ll be rinsing out for an hour and a half straight to this killer set, which you can experience/re-live both audibly and visually.

Special mention goes to the 32-minute mark, where his classic ‘Out The Blue‘ is accompanied by an intense and magical spectacle, thanks to the sheer radiance of the gargantuan disco ball hanging overhead.

The Vancouver-based DJ always knows how to keep his music true to the ethos of the funkiest place on Earth,  and returns to Shambhala to lay down some of the grooviest, sexiest funk this world has come to experience. From some booty-bumpin’ disco, to the wubbiest of glitch hop, you’ll feel like you’re on the set of Soul Train, breakin’ it down in ways you didn’t think imaginable.

Nearly every song on the tracklist is an original or remix done by/with K+Lab, and he knows exactly how/where each puzzle piece fits together, to create a musical mosaic that will leave you wanting more.

Sabo

Stage: Living Room
This is most of Sabo’s 5.5-hour marathon sunrise set, which said goodbye to the final night of the festival into Monday morning. After an exuberant weekend, it was the perfect cooldown before the masses started making their way back to civilization.

He laid down some globally inspired house and tech vibes for a set which was tranquil and flowed smoothly, just like the nearby Salmo river. If you’re looking for something to set the mood for a daytime pool party, or a late-night dip, this will easily help you get comfortable, no matter which body of water you choose to swim in. Toulouse-based Chloé Herry, best known as CloZee, rocked the Grove on the evening of her Shambs debut. Her mix featured an eclectic mix of a variety of sounds – from some low-to-the-ground frequencies, to world-influenced melodies, as well as a good number of throwbacks and hip-hop remixes to get the crowd singing along and feeling nostalgic.

Her own natural flair of magic, combined with that of the Grove’s, brought about a heavy yet euphoric set, which is creating a lot of buzz for her return this year.

Space Jesus

Stage: Amphitheatre
If there’s anyone who can make weird feel like the norm, it’s Brooklyn’s Jasha Tull, a.k.a. Space Jesus. Along with Sub Focus and Getter, he was treated to a Shambhala Live video of his own, which shows a glimpse of what went down the eve before the festival was in full swing.

He was also a very soothing voice amidst the wild, weird madness – at intermittent points, he would hop on the mic, and spread loving vibes into the crowd. Whether from homesickness, being a first-timer, or whatever other reason, he also assured anybody freaking out/uneasy/paranoid about anything that everything will be alright, and to just take in the moment and let go.

His set includes the track ‘M. Night Shambhala‘, which he created to express his love for the festival since his 2015 debut!

Excision

Stage: Village | Free download
This is a rather monumental time for the Canadian bass maestro, given that he’s preparing a special 10th anniversary set for this year’s shindig, along with the launch of his own music festival later this year. At nearly 3 million views since its release, this set brings the full force of the Village to your speakers, so take caution in where you choose to unleash this.

And to those going to both festivals this year, I hope you realize that you’re THE envy of the town.
