PREMIERE: dwilly Brings The Filth On ‘Pop Shove It’

dwilly is back with another banger! The Boston based producer is kicking 2017 off with a fresh heater entitled ‘Pop Shove It’. The track builds upon his recent love for genre blurring and weird sound design. Stitching together elements of trap, twerk and dubstep, he delivers a self-described “bass casserole.” How did a skateboard trick become the foundation of his latest work? “I mainly just thought the phrase itself had a nice ring to it. I also walk by these skateboarders everyday on the way to school and I thought it would be a cool idea to turn something arbitrary like a skateboard trick into a track. I would say I ‘leisurely’ skateboarded as a kid. I was always scared when it came to dropping in to the big drop down ramps and half pipes. One day, I finally mustered up the courage to try it and fell on my face,” says dwilly. Although current or former skateboarders may instantly gravitate towards ‘Pop Shove It,’ you don’t have to be a skater to appreciate it. It’s more about the insane energy and adrenaline it delivers than anything else. If you dig weird bass music from the likes of Herobust and NGHTMRE then you def need to peep this.

Along with the track’s release comes dwilly’s first visual. The video takes you to Boston for a trip that’s filled with partying, choreographed dance numbers and of course some solid skating. It’s well put together without taking itself to seriously (peep the Heelys stuntin’); a fitting representation for an incredibility talented producer who’s dropped songs like ‘Pop Shove It’ and ‘Pants Off.’ Find out what he had to say about the video below.

“I was lucky enough to score Ryan Watanabe as my director and editor of the entire video. He has such a natural talent for capturing and recording, so it was a blessing just having him on the project. The process of gathering the cast and filming was probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life. Everybody involved had to play their parts in sub freezing Boston temperatures. Regardless, it was an experience I’ll never forget and I’m looking forward to creating more music videos in the years to come.” – dwilly

PREMIERE: D-WiLL Drops Best Track Yet With ‘Pants Off’

D-WiLL has been a producer we’ve been messing with for a minute. The Boston-based beatmaker first caught our ear with his hip-hop productions but has continued to develop and expand his sound. His most recent works have been getting more experimental and odd and we couldn’t be happier. Today we bring you his newest release, the aptly titled, ‘Pants Off’. The track opens with absurd vocals stating ‘I’ma take my pants off,” which builds into an undeniable chant. At first pass you may be wondering is this for real? But as the bass kicks in you know things are about to get serious. The vocals are chopped and looped as it builds and then drops into something that is straight up insane; combining a disorienting array of drunken-industrial sounds, cavernous bass and slapping percussion. It’s the type of crazy sound design and knock that has become synonymous with NGHTMRE and Herobust. As the track progresses it continues to evolve getting weirder and more enjoyable throughout. The laughter at the end lets you know not to take the vocals too serious but the raw production is certainly no joke.

Wondering where the vocal sample came from? An iconic Baltimore club record? A dirty south rap heater? Nope. It’s actually courtesy of D-Will’s roomate. Where most would find a chant about removing one’s pants upon arriving home annoying, D-Will saw it for what it could be; the foundation of a banger. PREMIERE: D-Will & Wessanders Get Weird on ‘Slide’

Boston based producer D-Will has been heating up as of late with tracks like ‘FWAP,’ ‘Bathtub’ and ‘The Beginning’. With each release he’s experimented and expanded his sound and his latest release, a collaborative effort with Wessanders is by far his most adventurous. ‘Slide’ is pure uncut filth. Grimy, industrial sounds are melded with mesmerizing melodies, mind-bending sound design and some dark low end. All this equates to a track that is put simply: weird as fuck (in the best way possible). If you like to keep it weird, then this one is for you. Boston based producer D-Will has been on our radar for a minute and his latest track ‘FWAP’ illustrates why. The icy beat bridges the gap between that classic East Coast vibe and that 2016 knock. The track serves as a launching pad for some of Boston’s up-and-coming rappers. D-Will kicks it off proving that his talent doesn’t solely lie behind the boards. The hook gives the track some room breathe before DC comes through delivering a strong verse. Zaid Tabani brings a gruff, angry flow that will please underground rap heads. Capping things off comes a mean 32 bar verse from female lyricist Hill R Eye Bank$. The beat is stripped down for an almost acapella feel before bringing it back in with her bars going hard as ever.
