A dizzying melody attracts you out the gate. Before you know it, the percussion is pounding and rap vocals are drifting in with a filthy bounce. But they’re just warming up. As the vocals loop, the energy intensifies before enveloping into an absolutely colossal drop. Walls of bass pulverize you from every angle as you’re dropped straight into the trap. Just when you think this one can’t get any wilder, they absolutely snap with a myriad of samples and brain-bending sound design to cap it all off. Mean yet playful, bouncy but brutal, ‘Makeasound’ is an absolute beast of a collaboration. Listen below and grab the free download.

I’m honestly honored that Danforth would bring this track to me and bless me with the the privilege of adding my flavor to it. The OG idea up thru the drop was all him, and his flow makes this track insanely special to me. Danforth’s an amazing friend and musician and I’ll never ever reject an opportunity to collab with him.

In the latest installment, the line up of artists could not be anymore top notch. With it containing 9 tracks, one of which is a collab between Danforth and REBRTH, there is plenty of room for each track to radiate. Some of the other names we see are TaDa, jordnmoody and Oh! Gee to name a few. The quality of build behind this compilation is certainly one of their greatest efforts yet. Furthermore, with a restructured brand is this showcase of passion, determination and forward thinking artists coming together. It was difficult for me to choose a few standouts but I had to highlight a couple tracks. Kabes ‘Plague’ first off with its no-nonsense aggression straight out of the gate before it falls into a zone of comfort with a future drop in the second half. I am a sucker for genre switch ups like that. Alex Beal‘s ‘Exodus’ was another that was a surprise for me as I am not very familiar with this name. However, after hearing the flux of authentic trap with a slight bounce at the end, it left me wanting more.

“Another big change is the release schedule, going from once a month to an average of, at least, 3 tracks a month between Above and Below,” explains Bernard Capistrano. Expect more from this newly branded project and scope the latest Sounds From Below Vol. 6 here.

The track started as part of Partica Artist Groups30 minute beat challenge on Twitch, Danforth recalls, “since I didn’t have time to overthink the original idea for the cypher, it gave me a really strong foundation for the remix and I was told by multiple producer homies I needed to finish it out. I love making tracks in the tempo it’s originally at but when I started my cypher entry I thought it would be fun to slow it down a bit and find a new groove for it while still keeping the tracks original integrity.”

Danforth begins his remix with a mesmerizing vocal loop paired with classic trap percussion that immediately lets you know that Danforth is not playing games. The build gives way to a gritty, sliding, metallic lead and groovy beat that double down in heat when Danforth adds some woodwinds that flutter about. A short break in the action occurs and then you are hit with even dirtier drop than the first. Danforth has made this remix super clean and it may sit as one of his top tracks yet.
