A drum and bass aficionado who uses various styles to influence his music, Audeon has been on a tear as of late and looks to continue his momentum with ‘Cold Mind,’ out now via Denali Records. Coming off a runner-up placement in MUST DIE!’s ‘CHAOS‘ remix contest and a feature on OUTSIDERS PARIS‘ latest compilation, Audeon takes a more relaxed approach to drum and bass with his latest, but it doesn’t lack energy or groove. Hovering between techy and liquid drum and bass, ‘Cold Mind’ is hypnotizing in melody and inspiring in aura.

“‘Cold Mind’ is kind of an experimental song with white noise basses – and was actually made for a Discord musical challenge at first. Inspired by releases on DIVIDID, it also features huge pads & melodies yet is still as minimalistic as possible, as this is where I wanna go with my music,” says Audeon about his latest.

Even though this is his debut on DENALI, he’s released a track in the past with the BONSAI team which was a great success for him. Which makes this release extra exciting. Coming back around full circle. Support each other like before. So prepare for a wild ride he’s prepared for his listeners.

I wanted ‘OBIDA’ to be a club banger with punchy drums with an energetic feel. I was inspired by hybrid trap, half-time and bollywood. I like to call this type of music ‘wonky hip hop beats’. – Kazantzakis

‘OBIDA’ is an old-school trap love note. It hones in on every quality that made the genre become truly alive for so many in the world. Thick drums, powerful leads, and even a sampled vocal to keep the track flying at a constant pace. It wraps every element together in a neat and gorgeous fashion. Making the listeners stay interested every second. Combining the art of Bollywood and trap music, in general, was a genius route to take throughout the arrangement. Honoring two movements with one banger. Even the breakdown can easily throw you into a calming trance. A soothing stasis throughout your body for a cooling after effect. When all of a sudden he throws in one more drop at the end to top it all off. He really put in so much passion and talent to create this monster of a track. ‘submerge’ is the next big step for linkr’s vision through the industry. His talent has skyrocketed through each second within the piece. Taking him into brand new territories while paying homage to his roots. And to honor the new label, he’s created a song that paints a calming yet impactful picture through nature and evolution. Specifically beneath land itself. From a crisp and gentle beginning to hard-hitting drops, he’s thrown in many unique characteristics and elements to complete this big everlasting journey. The impactful drums and blissful sound design in the first chorus completely show his growth as an artist and shines a new light on his art. Incorporating an addictive melody along with those drums really was the cherry on the top for the first portion of the song. Making you feel hyped up and relaxed at the same time.

This brings us to the second portion of the track. Returning to his roots, he completely switches it up during the final drop. Knocking any listener off their feet. It’s a cool yet fiery blast of heavy sound design. We do even hear some of it being teased in the first drop as a filler. But now he’s bringing it around full force with each note being played. Filled to the brim with satisfying frequencies to please not only the melodic style demographic but also the audience who love heavy music. While Bonsai Collective is known for spotlighting melodic production influenced by trap, jazz, hip-hop, and funk, Denali Records will be focusing on harder electronic music like bass, drum and bass, house, and more. The new label will be curated by capshun, Sasha Rome, and Afrosamuraiist, who’ll be receiving support from their other Bonsai labelmates.

Denali originates from the name of the tallest mountain in North America. This symbolizes the heavy, hard-hitting tracks we will release with the new label. We want Denali to be the home for hard electronic music including bass music, house, DnB and others. With Bonsai we focused on the melodic side of EDM and we’ve had to exclude some good music that didn’t fit the Bonsai sound. Now with Denali we can represent those harder-hitting tracks and between the two labels we can cover a lot of ground in the electronic scene. We will continue to support both established and up and coming artists, with the quality of the music always being #1 for us.
