The grime legend is back. Following up his 2017 release Raskit, the OG Dizzee Rascal returns with a fresh 5 track EP entitled Don’t Gas Me. The projects kicks off with the title track, a high energy effort that sees Dizzee amped up over some deep and wonky dub basslines. It’s a banging club anthem that balances a gritty aesthetic with a fun-loving swagger. ‘Quality’ slows things down for a more nostalgic flavour. It speaks to the importance of quality and reminds listeners just how high Dizzee’s continues to be. Skepta and Dizzee link for the hustling anthem ‘Money Right’ that’ll soundtrack you moving weight, whether it’s in the streets or in the gym. ‘Spin Ya’ sees P-Money coming through with a song stealing verse that’s bookended with verses from Dizzee and C Cane. Switching the vibes one last time comes ‘Patterning Vibez,’ an upbeat late-summer groove. At this point Dizzee is a certified legend and Don’t Gas Me is just another reminder as to why.

Dizzee Rascal Slaughters on ‘Space’

UK legend Dizzee Rascal is back with a vengeance. On his new cut ‘Space,’ the emcee blacks out for nearly 4 minutes, blessing us with lyrical backflips. It’s a buffet of bars over an Antarctic cold beat. Just take a sampling of these lyrics, “Why do they talk like I am not established?/ That is so callous, they are the saddest/ Why are they so full of malice?/ Making up fallacies, I’m in my palace blazing up the chalice with Alice/ ‘Cause I’m a gyalist and I’m the baddest, it’s not a travesty/ Call me “Your Majesty,” sometimes it feels like world’s on my phallus/ Push out my chest and I big up my status”. His flow is sure insanity, bodying the beat like the OG he is. The track builds hype for his upcoming album Raskit which drops July 21.

Donae’o Connects With JME & Dizzee Rascal For ‘Black’

From the UK grime scene to djs and rappers in North America, the “all black everything” wave has never been stronger. Furthering the momentum comes the all black anthem from Donae’o, JME and Dizzee Rascal – fittingly titled ‘Black’. Kicking the track off comes an enticing pre-hook that shows Donae’o’s vocal range. As the bass deepens the infectious and simplistic hook comes in. The combination of repetitive lyrics over the bouncy beat give this an anthematic feel. Donae’o comes through with a strong verse that is followed by bars from JME. Closing this out comes a show-stealing verse from Dizzee Rascal. His unique style and delivery weave through the production exceptionally as the lyrics take the concept to another level. Don’t be surprised if this swells from a low key anthem into a smash.
